Awesome parents. Man I love those times that info was limited and being blown away when I saw new games in the store. Miss those days whenever I talk to anyone my age we could always relate because of the availability. Now media is so vast, everyone has their own favorite thing.

My favorite animated series and toys line at that time. Although I think I was slightly older. Both were so creative ! The real Ghostbusters may still be one of my all-time favorite animated series.

This video touched me. My dad has an inoperable brain tumor and we don't know how much time he has left. I really identified with you when you said you were going through the loneliest time in your life after losing your dad. We haven't lost my dad yet, but he's a little different every day and it's heart breaking to watch. Thank you for giving me some emotional catharsis through your story. We're lucky to have good dads, even if we don't get to have them around for as long as we would've liked.

My “Spoiled” Retro Life…..😂 Jk man. Nothing but respect and admiration towards your parents. I grew up way poor (financially) so it’s so interesting to see this lifestyle. So foreign to me.

I pretty much had to give up trying to beat Sigma in Mega Man X3. He was way too hard. Even if I had beaten him, the lava probably would have gotten me. It didn’t seem worth it to keep trying. Instead, I was content knowing that I got to Sigma, at least. X3 was a such a hard game for me. I beat X1 and X2, no problem.

Obviously SEGA should of just released the Saturn. Even that was botched. I bought a 32X in March of 95 for $20. I enjoyed it. Still have it CIB.

The 32X was garbage. Don't get me wrong, there are some pretty good games in it's VERY limited library, but man SEGAs marketing died with this system and never recovered. I loved all things SEGA growing up, it was the first 16-bit console I owned, but that didn't make me Team-A or Team-B. Not long after my older brother got a TG16 and I obtained a SNES. I loved every console of that era because they were all so unique. While I was and always will be a SEGA fan-boy, I could see that the SNES in almost every video game is graphically superior. Don't get me wrong, I know the Genesis has many outstanding titles when it comes to graphics/animations/parallax/frame rate, but SNES was always just cleaner and more vibrant. And while I love the sound/midi chip in the Genesis, (again, it can do things the SNES chip can't and vice versa,) SNES also had much cleaner sound. When I heard and read about the 32X I was so fuckin excited! I knew the Saturn would be out soon, but for the 4 months I was waiting for it, I'd be damned if I wasn't playing the 32X. So I bought it... and man was I ever disappointed. I remember playing Mortal Kombat II and thinking "Really? This is it?" While 32X is more faithful to the arcade and seems to have better sound than the Genesis in some respects, the SNES still looked way more polished and smooth. SNES still even had more frames of animation for moves and win poses. I bought this stupid thing right when it was released so I paid full price. I definitely felt I was a victim of false advertising. I also had a SEGA CD so obviously my console had become even more of an abomination, but even the joint 32X/CD games were a huge let down. The disappointment subsided when I got my Saturn though, and after that the Dreamcast. I absolutely loved both of those consoles. SEGA had a penchant for making technically superior machines with innovative twists back then, and I've always loved that the faithful arcade ports and the "aimed at adults" content, especially during the Genesis years. It is a wish of mine that one day SEGA will surprise everyone by getting back into the console wars, but it makes little sense for them to do so unfortunately.

I always say my childhood peaked when I saw the TMNT movie in theaters for my friends bday in 3rd grade When his mom got tickets, the kids saw that the TMNT arcade game was in the theater lobby. I'd never played it before and we ran over and all picked our favorite (I was a Raphael kid). Been chasing the high of playing that game before seeing the movie ever since lol

Wow dude. Just saw your x-men video and thought how much I could relate to you. But always was the biggsest turtles fan. And now this pops up. Funny how so many kids in different countries shared the same passion and BIG kudos to your dad filming all of this. Its a relic from the past and I wish I had footage like this. But it still is so wholesome to watch yours. I am super grateful for my family and my mom who always tried to make me happy, even though there were times where we really did not have much. And I am super happy for you that you also had such a wonderful childhood and loving parents. Also learning that your grandpa was Mike Esposito blew my mind...what a legend.

Thanks for sharing, this was so wholesome. And I could relate so much. Born in the 80s, teen in the 90s...awesome times. So cool to see your personal footage, reminded me a lot of that time. And makes me miss my dad. I miss those birthdays and christmas, that smile of my mom when seeing me happy. She still has this mile today, but its a different thing when youre grown up.
