Considering all the love and popularity this game has got, it is surprising to see empty seats in the aisle.. This was the opening game of the world cup.. Happening first time in colored jersey.. Hosts were playing.. it makes me think that the popularity of this game that we're witnessing is largely due to the increased media coverage.. isn't it?

France had some serious players in that era , maybe I'm looking at the game through rose tinted glasses but I preferred the game then and of course you were allowed to ruck which creates quick ball which isn't allowed anymore.
