So, normal tax for the self employed working alone from home if living there even as non domiciled and without remitting new money to Ireland? That's a shame. I thought a digital nomad could buy or rent a house and live paying tax only on money sent to IE. Thanks for the video. I was looking for an accountant to help but it's only worth moving there if I can avoid income and wealth tax. I thought I just had to segregate new and old money and only use the old if possible, or a small amount of the new to avoid taxation.

If the Irish company is making E-commerce in Europe ( all stock will be in France not in ireland) but there is no trading in Ireland and this company do not have employees, i am just working alone from my home outside Ireland. The corporation tax rate will be 12.5% or 25% ? Thanks for your help

Hello, is everything ok? Could you clarify a doubt for me? I married an Irish citizen and my husband and I decided that we are going to live in Ireland, however, I have investments in my country (Brazil) and I am not interested in providing a tax exit in Brazil, however, I want to send an amount for me to keep in Ireland, I would like to know if I will pay tax in Ireland on all my assets in Brazil (taxes are already paid on Brazilian soil) or if I will only be taxed on the amounts I send to Ireland? And how long could I maintain non-domestic status? Can I maintain non-domestic status if I become an Irish citizen? Thank you in advance for your attention, have a great day. 😃🙂

If you sell ZERO goods in Ireland or to Irish customers but are a sole trader (resident in Ireland) selling goods through Amazon USA to USA customers only (goods bought in China shipped directly to USA) does this mean 0 is the ‘qualifying’ income for VAT threshold purposes correct? VAT registration is important for me to prevent vat charges on services provided by a USA business (amazon). Is vat registration possible? would appreciate a steer on both questions

Great video, qq. If you've sold stocks in dollars and faced deductions when transferring the money to your Irish bank, do you know if these deductions can be offset in CGT tax as an expense? Fees I see is 2.5% for fidelity 😢

So, can you bring money from outside IE here and you will have to pay taxes for the money that enters here? How much? 33% or same same % you make from your incomes here (20%-40%)? Thanks

Excellent video. Can you please explain if a NON DOM Irish Tax resident/ordinary Tax Resident, (self Emploued), in ireland filling up FORM 11 has to declare his over seas Rental income? Yes or No? In case he has to declare his over seas rental income, does the individual get taxed on his overseas Residental income, if he has not brought over, or spent any on foreign credit card?

Thanks for the video! Question: What about unexercised options and disposed before the expiration date? For example, using a brokerage you sell 1 PUT for 10. Thus, you received a premium of 1000. Then, before the PUT expiration date, you buy it back for 1 (you pay 100 in premium for it). Therefore, your profit was 900. Do you pay RTSO or CGT in this case?

@nathantrustirl
@nathantrustirl 10 ай бұрын
Great question! In Ireland, inheritance tax, also known as Capital Acquisitions Tax (CAT), is imposed on the value of assets received through inheritance or gifts. The purpose is to generate revenue for the government and promote fairness in wealth distribution. While it may seem challenging, proper tax planning can help minimise the impact of inheritance tax.

Hi there, thanks very much for the video! Question: what if I don't receive an Option premium? For example:, through my brokerage account, I sell 1 PUT for company X at 10 euros the unit. Then, and after a few days, but before the option expiration date, I buy it back for 2 euros. Would I pay RTSO (52%) or CGT (33%) on these 8 euros per unit profits (800 total, as 1 Option = 100 units)? Also, can I offset losses from trading PUTs from other companies? And lastly, can I offset CALLs trading from PUTs as both are Options? (And vice-versa). Thanks very much once again!

Could you make a video explaining what are the steps which a non-domiciled tax resident (or ordinary tax resident) in Ireland should be do/follow in order to take advantage of that status legally/correctly? There are some brokers, for instance, Interactive Broker which withhold 20% tax of benefits. So, what should I do in order to avoid it? Talk with the broker about I am non-domiciled or Revenue will return me that 20%? Or it's better to look for another broker? If we want to use it correctly, should we avoid getting Irish domiciled ETFs and UE domiciled ETFs? Should we declare the benefits every year or isn´t necessary because we are non-domiciled? Must we send documentation to Revenue every year to demonstrate we are still non-domiciled? If you can make a video about it you will be the first Irish youtubers talking about it.

Thank you David and Philip for the content, I have a question here I am a non domiciled, tax resident in Ireland. if I remit capital gains from equity investment based in outside country into ireland, under DTAA I will be taxed at the source country according to the tax mentioned under DTAA. When I remit this gains into ireland I will be subject to Irish CGT, in this case will I get annual equity CGT tax exemptions here and also will I get credit for the tax I already paid at the source under DTAA.

No DTAA allows one relaxation only, generally the sourcing country taxes the income and other make it as exempt

hey lads! Hope you are doing alright! The question I have that I can't find anywhere is: if a the person is non-domiciled in Ireland, the options are exercised and the shares are granted (the company doesn't do the sell-to-cover-taxes thing) in a broker outside Ireland and sold a few days later in that same broker, but eventually the money is transferred to an irish bank; when do you have to pay the Income tax on those shares?? (lets assume the money doesn't get into an Irish Bank until 50 days from exercising those options). Basically the question is about the "30 days timeline" to pay the Income Tax for those exercised shares.....but in the case of NOT being irish domiciled and that the exercise and sale happen outside Ireland, and the money is not entering the country until a while after that 30 days period. Thanks

Great video, but the ETF matter is confusing. As a potential UK non-dom with UK based ETF'S (wrapped in UK ISA) it would be great to understand if these are taxed on remittance basis or the 41% deemed disposal after 8 years - difficult to get clarity on thos matter.
