For some reason on other channels comments are blocked so I shall give me input here. Just over a month and a half ago my cat started bringing in fleas. Surprisingly they were only found to come off him in my room. I would wake up with anywhere between 3-6 bites a day. After the second day this happened I found one on my shin and checked my cat on a white towel and sure enough 3 came off his chin when I combed it. I decided to try and steam the carpets at least but that didn't help much considering our poor cat was still carrying new ones in so I went to the vet and they gave me some great advice. They recommended this 'Seresto Flea Collar' along with treating the whole house with 'R.I.P. Fleas Extra'. 'R.I.P. Fleas Extra' is a spray used on carpets and wooden floors for inside the home and some small outdoor areas. It can cover about 4 rooms. *Step 1:* Move furniture and Vacuum the whole house including walls and inside furniture if you don't want to get too close by using some other chemicals with a cloth. Empty the contents of the vacuum immediately but ONLY in your outside bin and use a mask. *Step 2:* Follow the instructions on the can and spray as instructed making sure to pay special attention to corners, skirting boards and cracks in a well ventilated room and leave for 24 hours before vacuuming. This will last up to 12 months in the carpet but it's still a good habit to continue vacuuming every week at least. I also bought a Nat comb from a local pharmacy as my local pet ran out of flea combs but she said Nat Combs for humans is practically the same thing. Same design of the pins to trap fleas. I would soak it in some warm water (about half a litre) with a small amount of Fairy Dishwashing Liquid (In America they call it 'Dawn' but it's the exact same thing) flick off excess water and try to comb my cat gently while he is eating. it's impossible any other time as he will try to lacerate me lol. Sure enough I got about 12 fleas off him. "Why Fairy Dishwashing Liquid" you say? Well after doing extensive research it makes the water more viscous so the fleas are unable to get oxygen so they suffocate. Also it causes their INCREDIBLY hard shells to dissolve gradually. I didn't really wait for the dissolving part, I just flushed them down the toilet right away and sterilized the comb and little bucket. So after all these things we have been flea FREE for 3 weeks now. So I would say it works. as with most things like this having a routine to keep on top of it will prevent potential intrusion in the future. Hope this advice helps some of you : ]
