HATE to say it but in my experience Abisko Lite Trecking trousers lasted not even year before what Fjallraven Australia called "wear and tear" happened. Never had been so disappointed in customers service until today. But saying that still enjoy every other Fjallravens item I own. Maybe just buy Abisko Lite for picnic and walking your dog. 😀 PS: Thank you Ted. ;-)

Hi Sandra! I wear VARDAG DUNGAREE TROUSERS like you Sandra, only my pants are green. So what's so special about it? I'm male, as I feel, and I find the VARDAG trousers extremely useful because they have suspenders, shoulder straps, which help when the days are extremely windy. It also has many other advantages, which is also clear to you, and I would just like to mention that the pants intended for women are extra wide in the hips, which also benefits us men, who are wider in the hips. It is also an advantage if a person sweats, the belt that holds the regular pants presses the moisture on the lower back, which creates an unpleasant coldness. There are many advantages of trousers with shoulder straps. It would only add the need for a front zipper in the bladder area, you know why. Sorry for my bad English

PSA: The Jacket has been discontinued and replaced by a wool variant, a down version is also availabe. I've been wearing the Jacket for four winters by now, took it skeeing and hiking. It's been holding up great and never let me down. I never took to putting wax on it and can't remember a single time I got soaked even being in heavy rain(impregnating the G1000 fabric with a regular spray insted of the recommended Greenland Wax should also be an option here). For skeeing the zip-up feature comes in handy since you need the extended leg movement. Other then that I can recommend the jacket to anyone that may find some leftover stock or can find it used(it's worth the search)

I wanted to buy one of your g-1000 shells cause I’ve heard they last forever.. but my budget was Patagonia slate sky lol. Very informative though.. articulated and gusseted gear that’s waterproof and breathable is the ticket for a fun hike.

Do the trousers come in different leg lengths?
@mikehatch5888 Жыл бұрын
The pro's come raw, they are very long so that you're able to bring them to a tailor and have them hemmed to your preference.
@trevorhawkins9896 Жыл бұрын
@@mikehatch5888 The problem for me is that I have short legs. If the trousers have pre-shaped knees, to help articulation, I find that these knee areas end up too low on my leg, and therefore are uncomfortable, and don’t fit correctly. Some brands, like Harkila, have different leg lengths, which allows you to correctly fit the trousers. Does Fjallraven have this option? Thanks

Ryan, do you have the Keb Jacket? If so, how do you compare the two and which one do you like better? The Keb seems more technical, but again not wind or waterproof. Thoughts? Second, have you tried the Vidda Pro Jacket? If so, how does it compare? Thanks!!!!
@zhezhang15573 жыл бұрын
I bought a keb jacket online without trying it on, and to be honest im not satisfied. the biggest con is the tight armpit area. it is nearly impossible to layer even a thick sweater underneath, which makes the jacket impractical: it is too warm to wear during summer and early fall, and too cold for winter.
@ryanheldoorn3 жыл бұрын
Apologies, this isn't my channel and as such I don't receive notification about this video as it's posted by Fjallraven Australia. I don't have the Keb jacket. I never really liked the cut and the feel of it to be honest. The keb jacket is made of up parts in g1000 and other parts in a stretchy polyester so it provides more range of motion (freedom of movement) in many regards. But the hood on the keb jacket is its biggest flaw in my opinion. For such a smallish jacket, the hood is immense (just my opinion). As for the Vidda pro jacket, I do own one of these and its similar but different in many ways. The main difference for me anyway is that the singi has the extra mid rift draw string around the belly (as mentioned in this video) but the Vidda pro has 2 more pockets and more reinforcement over the shoulders with no seem along the top edge of the shoulder so that the seem (or lack there of) doesn't put pressure on the shoulder when wearing a heavy pack. But both very similar in nearly all other facets.

@@ryanheldoorn Hello! I just bought this jacket mainly for urban use... But about its outback performance? Is it comfy? I know if treated with wax can take some water, but apparently the G1000 version is lighter than the Greenland. Thanks!
@ryanheldoorn Жыл бұрын
@@sapd72 For an outdoor jacket, it's definitely comfortable but you do notice the weight as it is a hardwearing jacket. Not sure what you mean about the G1000 is lighter than then greenland. Both this and the greenland jacket are made from G1000. This jacket just has more G1000 on the shoulders than the Greenland.
@sapd72 Жыл бұрын
@@ryanheldoorn Thanks! What I meant regarding the fabric, is that Singi Trekking's felt a little less thicker than Greenland, but apparently it's just an impression. Besides, what you stated about the reinforcement makes sense.

Do you cary your photography gear in your Abisko?
@ryanheldoorn4 жыл бұрын
It depends on the hike. Generally I will have a peak design capture clip on the strap with one of my cameras and a 24-70 lens. I often will take a telephoto in the bag also.
@adamouellette59714 жыл бұрын
is the Sarek the same as the Singi?
@adamouellette59714 жыл бұрын
@William Perkins Thanks! I ended up buying a Sarek Trekking jacket and a hyperlite down jacket from another manufacturer to go underneath...more appropriate versatility for what I need. Needed a tough exterior jacket as I spend lots of time scampering around on the ground and need lots of pockets. Does it seem very durable? I have a few pairs of Vidda Pro which is what made me think of getting this.
