Do animals in SA 1 boost random stats? in SA 2 a seal would be a definitive swimming booster

nah, but i believe in both games when you have a ton of animal stats added to a chao old stats are removed to add the new stats, and in cases where a stat beforehand was better then the stat with the new upgrade you can lose stats
