What made these Thunderbirds great cars was that they were very aerodynamic? which helped them to do well in a NASCAR. and on the road at highway speeds they had less drag. which allowed a person to get the most out of the power they had. and get relatively good fuel mileage. they also had independent rear suspension. the only other cars to have IRS at that time was the Corvette, and some high end European cars. however with the original springs and shocks the suspension was a little bit soft. but with some upgrades to the suspension and tires they could be made to handle pretty good. they were pretty decent cars all things said. The Steve Miller music was pretty good too.

That thing is mint! Had a supercharged 4.6L in mine. Oh what fun that car was!
