As heartbreaking as Newt’s death is, I’m kind of glad his life ended before he turned into one of those monsters. Barely human, just a creature with no recollection whatsoever of who they were or what they’re doing. I understand why Newt wanted to die. If I were him, I wouldn’t want to turn into something like that either. And I’m almost kind of glad he passed before he got too bad. It would’ve hurt a lot to see him like that, so I think I can live with his death, knowing he didn’t get past the Gone.
