But it’s quite misleading here to think of that this is going to be a simple process or that Armenians are ready to forget the horrors they have experienced throughout the years at the hands of any collaborating turks.

Proportionality doesn't mean that you are not allowed to cause more deaths than the weaker enemy, proportionality is a legal concept that applies mainly to the question when you are allowed to hit civilian buildings if armed fighters are in the vicinity, proportionality means that you have to take civilians in the vicinity into account and that you can only hit an armed insurgent if the harm suffered from civilians and civilian infrastructure is proportional to the threat level coming from these fighters. If you hit one minor Hamas fighter and also 20 civilians, it's likely not proportional, but if you hit an important Hamas leader and also 4 civilians next to him, this might be judged as proportional in the eyes of humanitarian law.
