Wow - really interesting that there is a whole forest of bamboo there in Atlanta! Really pretty even though it's invasive. That river looked really serious - I would have thought those people were stuck too. The snake was beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

Enjoy the ride young'uns. Here's just a bit of old man advice. If there is something along the way that interests and it doesn't fit your schedule, adjust the schedule and go and see it. There are so many places I have been by that I wanted to see but did not because I was in "a hurry."

Yeah it's really cool! Wouldn't expect to see that in Atlanta! Yes we're still in Oregon exploring for a few more days. And then we make the long trip back home!

I remember when I was a kid there was some talk about trying to get rid of the bamboo, but it isn't spreading that fast and there is nothing endangered nearby so they left it. But they were feeling pretty helpless against kudzu so maybe they thought beating the bamboo would be a good substitute.

They're pretty much nothing you can do with kudzu! Well hopefully they leave it alone it seems to be fine. I don't think it's spreading much. Appreciate you stopping by and commenting!

all of the south east USA was covered in a familiar type of bamboo (river cane) before European settlers destroyed them in order to farm

Here's some thoughts from an old guy whose been around just a bit... That is hands down your best video. Educational component was excellent, interactions were interesting and engaging, and you stayed on point throughout the presentation. Save this one as a model for the "perfect Nick & Rachel" video. The horseplay was great as well. It "looked" like you two were actually having fun being out together which is actually the best part of any of your vids. Good stuff for sure, God bless you both...

Yep you could see Cades cove from the top 😁 once you do it once or twice all that fear goes out the window. And you just learn to appreciate nature and accept whatever challenges come your way.

I was thinking I had already watched this one but after seeing it I don’t think I have. We’ve been there twice but the most recent time has to be at least 15 years ago. I remember being at the bottom and that’s a truly majestic waterfall and a beautiful park. Good video!

I hear you this park and grandfather mountain charge too much to get in! But they're so overcrowded even with the charge I couldn't imagine what it would look like if it was free

The climactic scenes in the movie "Last of the Mohicans" was filmed here. You can walk on that same trail.

That's right! We did full length videos of it a while back talking about it also that lake in the distance is where dirty dancing was filmed.

Appreciate it! I try to exhale when coming back up but neither one of us are very good divers 🤣 it was a struggle to get that far and I would imagine it would probably around 15 ft lol Would love to do more stuff like this to get better at it though it's a lot of fun!

Nick you're so blessed to have a stormtrooper wife like Rachel, my wife would not have even considered such a hike , she would have been going: I'm ready to turn around, I'm not doing this no way!!....I had no idea this was all that was involved to climbing Grandfather mtn!, I must get back up that way, thanks you guys, love yaw!
