Hey Rob ! in San Antonio in the 80s there was a VW shop that had piles of new Autolinia 40 X 35 heads like that guy has those orig heads He would buy them direct and get them 300 - 500 in a shipment . 37.50 walk up cost ? Me and Joe figuredthathe had to be getting them for 20 bucks each to sell them for 37.50 $. Back then why do a valve job ?

Empi engine pull joke nobody using major empi parts. Empi gives engine rebuilders second chances what a joke. The contest was a shame . The guys who won spent more money than they got money. Empi should have made everyone use Vw parts made by empi. U don’t get redos u get one chance. As u see a 1641 can get a lot of horsepower per cubic inch. Empi even charged the builders to enter and sold them parts what a joke.

Skills like this become lost to time, try googling for VW Type 1 Service in your area, or look on Samba, over half the mom & pop VW shops have closed in the last 12-15 years. Everything is disposable now from appliances to cars to relationships. I have a 1984 Chenowth former US Army FAV that will start restoration this Fall, Rancho is going to be one of the first calls about an 091.

For all budgets! Too often we see crazy engines but how many are used, here it's mainly for people driving their cars. Great.

Will this exhaust work on a 1200cc 40hp?

Hello, I have purchased this kit and I am currently working on the setup. So far I am quite pleased with the product (except for missing parts from the kit, that should hopefully be shipped ASAP). But I have a more important problem : I can't find the Throttle Position Sensor reference (TPS) that can be attached to the throttle body with the specific "2 teeth" 7mm shaft ending (NOT A "D" SHAPED SHAFT). No one at EMPI seems to have the info, no instruction were shipped with the parts, even though it's obviously a MAJOR information to install a proper setup with this kit. Can you help ? Thanks

Hey Empi! I have a 66 bug with the early style bumper. Will the tips for this exhaust be long enough to stick out a bit past the bumper? What’s the approximate measurement of the tips in inches maybe? I just don’t want them to be too short.

What torque rating do these carry? 200, 300?
