Wow tbh I never knew why the game existed until I saw this video 😂 I was one of the lucky few to be able to get a Saturn in sept 95 and remember getting VFR free in the mail. I remember being so proud gloating to my ps1 classmates “does only give you free games” 😅

Sorry if this is annoying, but here's a small correction. Those aren't screenshots of Capcom's newest fighter at 1.14.39, called Darkstalkers. Not exactly. It was Darkstalkers Revenge (the sequel), as well as Cyberbots.

Late comment, but wanted to thank you for making this! There was a 2 player cabinet at Supernova (smash bros tournament) last weekend and I spent a good amount of time on it that I probably wouldn't have done if I didn't watch this. The gas pedals were a little off (and the service manual only mentions physical adjustments to fix it, no easy digital settings), but it was still great getting used to the physics and saving fractions of a second on each run.

The "VR annihilated Winning Run" thing was direspectful, the game came 4 years after Winning Run and didn't have better physics, it only pushed more polygons which is expected.

"Leaving these weaker imitations behind" You are a clown, how about you do basic research? -Race/Hard Drivin' was released years before Virtua Racing, the fact that it was still that popular in 1993 just proves how big that game was. -Race/Hard Drivin' is unmatched in arcade history as it became a staple for driving simulation, while also being a fun game on its own right. It was much more ambitious and influential than say, F355 Challenge, Sega's take on simulation 10 years later.

This is an exceptional review/documentary that shows a phenomenal amount of the dedicated passion and commitment that has gone into covering every aspect of this classic Arcade/Saturn title. This is the type of work and journalism that is deserving far more praise for the amount of work and time that has gone into every chapter and breakdown of this game.

*This game is quite Decent, actually.* Not great or good but, decent. And it's Excellent soundtrack helps makes up for some of it's flaws. Bonus points if you're a fan of the film also, as this is one of the Better movie tie-in games out there.

It's been said hundreds of times, and rightfully so, but you did an incredible job making this! I particularly loved the interviews. It's so cool that everyone not only agreed to come on, but were so passionate about their respective topics. I can't imagine how long this took you to make. Your videos have always been really high quality but you've found a way to keep improving to new heights. I'm leaving this video with a new appreciation for not only Sega Rally, but for Rally in general. Definitely hooking my Saturn back up tonight to learn these courses.

Don't know why I'm updating this comment, probably because no one I know IRL gives a shit about retro stuff, but damn man.... I've been playing every night since I watched this and I'm totally addicted. Still grinding practice mode but I'm fully on board with manual. UNK is defeated in practice, I'll get him in a true arcade run very shortly.

Too much for the Sega Saturn to chew? That's nonsense. There's no PC game of 1993 that the Saturn couldn't match easily for the power needed. If there's problems with it it's because either the Saturn wasn't supported well enough for devs or the developers just slopped it together to get the contract done.

The Sega Model 2 Arcade emulator for PC, simply called M2 Emulator, lets you play in wireframe mode. I recorded the credit sequence in regular and wireframe mode, then applied the same movement settings in Premiere to both, allowing me to instantly and seamlessly go from regular Lakeside to wireframe Lakeside.
