Thank you for the info so, sorry you wasted time and money to let the rest of us know to beware, I appreciate bad reviews way more than the good ones. Signature solar will NEVER get a dime from me sir, we need to starve out these companies that won't deliver on the promises they sell. You might want to call your credit card issuing bank when you have problems and see about disputing the charge, you will have to return the junk but in some situations you won't if the merchant won't respond. I use to process charge backs for a living, these people hate selling to me because I dispute the charge right away when I get shafted with junk, chase and citi have both been good at getting the results I deserved. I use to work for bank of america and I would never have any account with them, never, they hire felons in their call centers, I'd never trust the 3rd parties they hire to sub out their call center work, I worked with all kinds of people no one would trust with a pencil but BOA trusted them with your personal info and bank info. As far as that transformer goes I would just build my own for a few bucks, forget paying $300ish, there is no serious tech in there most anyone could learn to build their own. Im working on my own DC to AC system but I'm doing hydro generators not solar, but pretty much the same game just wet.

These are high frequency inverters which are known for problems and short lifespans. Low frequency is what you want. I agree about Chinese making junk... but I also see that these look to be outside., which is crazy. These are clearly only indoor rated, probably the reason they are only lasting 8 months.

Who among these distributors has come the closest to meeting your customer and technical support expectations? Or have Chinese vendors all failed? Fact: tech support services cost. You can buy good, cheap, or fast. But only two at a time.

All the Chinese have failed. It’s just about time. The PowMr lasted the longest by far. But if you can spend a little more I would recommend one of the big names. At work we install a lot of Schindler Electric inverters. And they all seem to last. I am getting ready to start a video for Schneider soon.

How many panels/watts production do you have in your solar array? You said you have never reached 5,000 watts, correct? What make of panel and wattage are you operating under? I only ask because we are putting together an off grid system (48volt) with 96kw battery bank... if I need more panels to have the charge controllers do their job - I would like to know now.

We have 10 380watt panels on one string they put out 41 volt, per panel. For a total of 410 max amps. For the Growatt that’s almost at the top. Because it will only accept 500 volts. The other string is our remaining panels and there is 8 450watt panels that put out a max of 54 volts. Keeping in mind the 500 volts is our max. I am putting together a Schindler electric inverter and charge controller. I will make a video on that when I get some free time

Sure they don't always make the best but they sure make it affordable and reliable good enough. Don't believe me go look at the Victron which is Dutch made and see what that will cost you. Less feature and way more money for certain. Cheap enough so why NOT just buy an extra one for back up. Most people don't know this that the always failed part of any electronic device (NOT MACHINE AS SAID HERE) is the high power and heat generated components. Well for all inverters, charge controllers always the power MOSFET. They are so cheap and easy to diagnose and replace if you incline to fix it. Now how do you think i know that???????? Please don't bash the Chinese without them would solar energy be more widely available for the rest of us. They commercialize the lithium phosphate battery which is fantastic affordable for home solar energy storage that lasts for decade and of course they make numerous brands of inverter, charge controller, solar panels. The West industrialized with dirty dinosaur fuel NOW the East particularly China has industrialized with clean sustainable energy from the sun with many discoveries and inventions that came from the West. Both are important but more importantly to commercialize it to be usable and that is exactly what China has accompished. Many people complains about Made in China when they can't afford the more expensive one from other countries. To me affordability, reasonable reliablity are good enough for solar use. They are cheap enough just to buy an extra one for back up. Most definitely i will not give Victron my money as i do not like their high price and less feature. Your money you spend how you please. This is my perspective and experience as i am no newbie in this. I had and have been doing solar for 6 years and I always build my own from battery to the whole system. There is not a day in any of our life that we don't use electricity so it is worthwhile to learn and to take up a fun and rewarding hobby as solar energy and storage hobby. With EV coming up it is even more important as we can use the solar power to charge the vehicle. For those that want to go solar this is my take. Go for the 220V 5kw with stackable feature. Use the auto transformer for 110V stuffs. More inveter, solar panel, battery can be added later if more power is needed. They are so easy to add on and most definitely cheaper than any other way. You don't believe me until you start doing and using it i now that. You think i am doing solar for 6 years and i don't know what i am talking about? Especially when i build my own battery and install everything myself from solar panel to charge controller and inverter. Go for it people. solar is the way to go and the future. BTW I am off grid 100% and will never do grid tie as there is NO reason to. I do not have an electric bill EVER!!!!!!!

Of course, it's not going to work as expected. With only 3 panels each rated at 50 V, you won't reach the required 120-450 V MPPT voltage range. Under load, your voltage will drop to 100 V or even lower depending on the sunlight conditions outside. It's important to note that the type of battery you're using isn't the issue here. To achieve the necessary voltage, you should consider adding more solar panels to your setup and ensure that your PV voltage meets the minimum requirements. In your case, it might be beneficial to consult with someone who understands the specific requirements for proper functionality.

@@byronyoung6759 If the voltage falls below 120 V or exceeds 450 V in a solar energy system using a Growatt MPPT inverter, it can lead to various issues, including reduced efficiency, inverter shutdown, and potential damage to the equipment. Here's a more detailed explanation of what can happen in these situations: Voltage Below 120 V: Inverter Shutdown: The Growatt MPPT inverter may not operate or generate AC power if the input voltage from the solar panels falls below the minimum specified range, which is 120 V in this case. In this scenario, the inverter's internal protections may prevent it from starting or functioning, as it's unable to operate within its designated parameters. Reduced Energy Production: Even if the inverter operates at lower voltages, it may not be able to efficiently convert the available solar energy into AC power. This results in reduced energy production and lower system efficiency, as the inverter may not operate at its optimal power point. Voltage Above 450 V: Inverter Shutdown or Damage: If the input voltage exceeds the maximum specified range, which is 450 V, the inverter may shut down automatically to protect itself from potential damage. This is a built-in safety feature to prevent overvoltage-related problems. Reduced Efficiency: Operating the inverter at higher voltages than its rating can reduce its efficiency. It may not be able to perform maximum power point tracking effectively, leading to energy loss and potential overheating. Inverter Damage: In extreme cases, if the overvoltage situation persists, it can lead to damage to the inverter's internal components, potentially rendering it inoperable. Repairs or replacements may be necessary, incurring additional costs. In both cases, it's crucial to maintain the voltage within the specified range (120-450 V in your case) to ensure the proper and safe operation of your solar energy system. Solar panels and other system components should be configured and designed to keep the voltage within this range. If the voltage goes outside these limits, it can result in reduced energy production, inefficient operation, inverter shutdown, or damage, all of which can impact the overall performance and longevity of your solar energy system. To prevent such issues, work with a qualified solar installer or electrician who can ensure that your system is correctly configured and that all components are operating within their specified voltage and current ratings.

Outback inverters are made in China and then rebranded in OZ/US like 95% of all US and EU-claimed Inverters SCC, Schneider Electric are UK/US but 90% of their own bulk parts are in fact made in China now. Also, PowMr is the owner of Growwatt. Victron is based in the Netherlands/UK where they assembled it, BUT most of the internals are still made in China, but you get EU/UK quality control, so much western electrical stuff that's claimed to be built in the west is only assembled there now, but you are really looking for is electricals like Mossfets, Caps type internals that are made in South Korea & Japan and sometimes US/EU/UK. There are zero electrical devices made anywhere in the world without China parts inside of them now.

So when we would wake up the power would be off and there would be an error code flashing on the inverter. the Growatt inverter has stopped recognizing city power and solar power. It recognizes the batteries and uses the batteries until the batteries are depleted, then it simply beeps and shuts down. It will not charge the batteries, and it will not switch back to city power

Well I am very glad that you’ve had good luck with them, any Chinese product. The vast majority of the problems that come from China is the quality control. In fact I have batteries that have just arrived from China a couple weeks ago. 200 amp hour batteries, one of them has a BMS that only recognizes 100 amp hours. There again like I said a quality control issue. As of yet, I have not had a single Chinese inverter last 12 months. And I’ve tried at least three brands.
