Thanks man! Always like to see one done before I screw it up. Phister sucks as they have over 10 specific hoses so check your model and find the right part number. I didn't know my model so I ordered the wrong one. They can be only 5 mm difference so be careful!

Downhill all the way out? How does it go in a 2G?
@getweldsoon111315 күн бұрын
Not all the way out, just the root pass. It does pretty good on 2g as long as your gap is good. If your gap is too wide it gets tricky and if the gap is too tight it’s hard to break the bevels down.

Cool video I had been wanting to see one like like this what are your Wire speed and voltage between passes?
@getweldsoon111317 күн бұрын
I believe the fill and cap was 23volts and speed was 250 if I remember correctly.

@@getweldsoon1113 There’s a little black piece that looks like baby tongs with hook ends came from somewhere. Idk if it needs to be in the mix somewhere or not. I didn’t see where it came from.
@getweldsoon111319 күн бұрын
Well that stinks. Sorry I couldn’t help you more . There is a piece that goes on the end of the cable tube to hold it tight so the cable will actually pull on the latch when you pull the lever. I’m not sure if that’s what you’re talking about. You can see mine in the video.

No worries. It’s further than I’ve gotten on my own. That could be it. Thanks. I ended up breaking the handle on the new one, so I’m waiting on another one.

Whats the benefit of mig welding a root vs tig? Are we really saving that much time? Is this more of a structural tube thing? Great video and great channel. Keep up the good work.
@getweldsoon111322 күн бұрын
Thanks for the comment and compliment! So, the benefit of this process for us is, we weld a lot of 9 Crome and with this process you don’t have to purge your pipe. So for this purpose, yes, it saves a lot of time and argon. On the other hand, if you were just welding carbon steel that didn’t need a purge, then it wouldn’t really save a lot of time.

You have to take yours off and measure the length. If it looks like mine , I have a link in the description for you. You can click on it and order the length you need. Hope this answers your question.

I just love repairing stuff, like you, but 110% respect for patiently, and enjoyably, allowing your son to be involved, too. Most viewers will be here because of the problem, of course, but I defy anyone to NOT thoroughly enjoy seeing little man being treated like a big man, and being encouraged to help Dad. You are ACE - ever thought of running for President? You’re the man, you can do it, bud, 1000 times better, oh, take your son with you as Vice President, too 🤗. Yeah, and I’m across the pond from you. You could run for Prime Minister here in the U.K. - best candidate I’ve seen yet. Someone with a real heart who can put a country back together again, and is a loving, kind, and thoughtful father. 👏👍

What’s the hot start and arc force trying to learn
@getweldsoon11133 ай бұрын
(Hot start), is a setting that gives it more amps at the start then goes back to normal amp setting. It makes it easy to fire up the rod and not stick. (Arc force), is a setting that makes the weld penetrate deeper if you want it too.
