My great grand father had a rumley and a Thrasher moved around Collin county in north texas how he made his living besides farming
@michaelkirkwood33163 жыл бұрын
My dad and his brother when they were kids remember the tractor well it sat in McKinney tx for years at the Collin county youth park don't know what happened to the Thrasher but supposedly a company from up north came and disassembled it took it back to rebuild cause it was in such good shape would love to know where it wound up part of my heritage 😔

My great grandfather was the thresherman here in west Michigan. He ran a model G with a rumley thrasher. Sadly that tractor for lost to the scrap man many years ago

Rumely Fs fascinate me as we don't have vintage tractors like this in the UK. We have IH Titan 10-20s and a few IH Mogul 8-16s. The nearest machines we have are very early Aveling Barford diesel rollers with a big single cylinder Blackstone oil engine. The threshing machine is quite different from British ones as well, and bigger. Someone I knew who was a DJ said that this tractor makes 180 beats per minute when on the belt- I'd say it was when running fast at the beginning but settles into 170 Bpm. I like the way it "drops beats" around 2:20 when it first gets under load.

I have a 14 I love it!! When you look at what these tactors do with 1 or 2 bottom plows it might not look like much . When you look at the years they were made you start to think an some of us were either around back than or we have family that was around than . We know at that time a tractor than was a luxury for small farmer. My dad would talk about back than his dad had mules an a horse. What replaced them was a Case SC. Got it new an still on the farm today. My tractor is getting back in the soon it will have a 3 bottom plow behind it. I don't know how to do utube videos other than watch. I spend a lot of time watching this stuff of tractors . I know I'm long winded. But I just have to thank the people that do these. It's great they keep them alive. It's hard to do tractor shows any more. So thank you for showing I hope you have more out there I am looking. I love your tractor!!

is that a 47" or 54"? I'm looking at getting one for my 1025R. I think the 1025R is 48"?? Does that make for any issues if the wheels are a little wider than the snowblower?oh yeah I need a cab too now!!

Lemme see if i've got this right. This sort of tractor would've been the next logical step from the steam traction engine right?

Yes. Rumely made traction engines before they made tractors.

Cool the way the crankshaft is going one direction and the flywheel appears to go the other. Like wagon wheels in old westerns.
@OilHist7 жыл бұрын
Synchronization of the flywheel with the shutter speed of the camera. The flywheel is turning back toward the operator. The 15-30 F and the 30-60 E turned that way. Later Oil Pulls turned away from the operator.

That’s why there’s no twist in the flat belt either. Wasn’t needed to reverse rotation.
@fryloc3592 жыл бұрын
What's trippy is about the 4 minute mark, the flywheel appears to turn clockwise while the hub of the flywheel appears to turn ccw.
