I can’t believe doctors are still doing this to people.

can anyone tell me if i'll gain weight?. i have a ovarian cyst and its already 4,5 cm ( on the half of my ovarian) and im 16. Due to my health problem i need to go on a hormonal birth control and when i hear how many girls gain weight it scares me... beacause i used to be overweight and lost 15 kg/33 pounds and most of it body fat, however, for a year or so i cannot eat a single thing without having stomach cramps and also for 6 months i have protein in my urine. i do not know what that means or if its related to the cyst but i do really not want to gain weight. could anyone tell me the side effects or anything i can do?

I thought i was going to pass out on the toilet 😩 had the #3 THREE times at 4am with contraction-like pain ( Had a natural birth before ) it was HELL my arms felt tingly and my head felt so light and this was when I thought I would drop to the ground 😩😩

Having a dog, or dogs really makes me extremely disciplined, I am focusing on homework or work, and when I finished school, I would have to take them for a walk and when I studied at night they accompanied, they never leave me alone. I have to get up early and worked till late and take care of their wellbeing including mine and focus on my productivity. I need to save money for their food, toys, shampoos, and vet bills, among many other items. Dogs really transformed me into a better person. Real experience of dog owners since childhood. I finished high school with the top score, finished undergrad with 1st class hons. and made my way through masters and doctoral in very short time. I’m bawling at this. It has been three years I feel like I’m losing my life almost exactly the same symptoms as you except I have been on the implant. I’ve said to doctors could it be the implant and every-time I’m told no but they still don’t know what it could be.

Kyleena IUD - BEFORE exercising 4-5 days/week eating whatever i wanted and losing weight rapidly (took 3-4 months). DURING KYLEENA continuing to workout & eat the same, gained 10 pounds in 5 months. 1 YEAR AFTER, slowly losing weight and it has taken me the entire year and i had to completely re-work my diet & add intermittent fasting . I never stopped working out this whole time, except now I’ve been going harder cause i desperately want to get lean. The IUD seriously changed my whole body composition lol. It infuriates me that KYLEENA doesn’t list weight gain/difficulty losing as a side effect - CAUSE IT 100% IS.

Just a small suggestion please use chest leash not neck leash especially for new dog owners because the doggos would be running around and it will not be comfortable for the doggo

I really don’t want to get on the pill but I’m kind of being forced to by my partner, we had so many fights because I’m so afraid of the side effects of birth control but he is sick of using condoms all the time. All this makes me really anxious but I have to do it because I know that if I don’t get on the pill, it would mean that we break up and I just love him so much that I can’t handle the breakup and I guess I’d rather shift my boundaries and pray that it won’t affect me much😔

I'm so glad they got there in the end, and so sorry it took so long. I'm on my 3rd brand of pill and I'm about ready to give up on trying to find one that works. I started my first one a year an a half ago, weight ballooned to where I was constantly bloated and none of my clothes fit, the 2nd was switch by my provider - they said it wouldn't matter because it was the same active ingredient but I had heart palpitations every day and if I missed one pill I bled for 9 days. Somewhere around there I went back to my prior weight and then spoke to my provider about the heart issues, she changed me again and this time my anxiety is through the fucking roof. I haven't had this bad anxiety in 8 years or more. I'm about done.

gonna share my experience for anyone whos in the same boat as me. at 13 i got the implant, it has nearly been two years since i got the implant and i have gained over 50 pounds, nausea, fatigue, depressed, mood swings, emotional. at the start i dealt with a month long period but havent had it since, i am planning on getting it removed.

Omg! This happened to me too. I had to call urgent care and talk to a doctor because I couldn't drive. She put me on some meds to control the acidity in gut. I had to take two kinds of meds. These birth control pills mess up the gut so badly.

Did I miss it or when did you have dinner?

Omg I've literally been struggling with stomach issues recently, with really bad abdominal pain for no reason, no matter what I eat (to the point that eating or not eating lactose or fatty foods wouldn't even make a difference). I thought it was the adapalene I was taking for acne, never thinking it might be the birth control I had been taking for over a year. Before birth control, I was so skinny, despite eating whatever I wanted. Now, I've gained between 10-15 lbs eating the exact same as before, or less because I started dieting to lose the weight I was gaining. The adapalene healed my skin and my confidence was boosted when my face became acne free, but now my weight is a source of extreme insecurity, anxiety, and sadness for me, and I never thought it might all be due to birth control.

Omg I never realised my birth control pill could have made me feel sick years ago! I felt so much nausea, had chest pains and when I would walk I would feel so weak in my legs. This video is really informative. I haven't been on birth control for years.

I was 160 a year ago on when starting nex. And I had tones of stomach pain at the beginning that turned into me losing weight and lose of appetite. I haven’t had a normal appetite for months now and I am now 110. I had no clue I’ve gone to a nutritionist and doctor about my appetite loss and none could’ve told me it was my birth control?

i am so tired of gynos not being upfront and honest about how your body will react to birth control. i’ve been on bc for almost two years now. when i started i was 175-180, im now 215, and gained the weight so quickly. i’ve been on my period consistently for 4 months, with short days between the next, my cramps are horrendous, my face shape feels like it has completely changed, and it has worsened my anxiety. i’ve already had extremely severe anxiety, but bc has crippled me and made me feel so lost. i am so tired all of the time, so sluggish, and has caused me to deal with past eating disorders again.

I am really amazed you didn’t put together it was the pills making you sick. Can I ask.. How long did you have nausea while on the ring? I have had constant extreme hunger/nausea and nothing keeps it at bay. I keep trying to snack on things but I have 0 appetite and I have lost a lot of weight. I had to go onto birth control at 13 due to endometriosis and PCOS. I was around 120-140 pound before birth control and now I’ve ballooned up to 217-221(it makes my weight fluctuate horribly) and I cannot control my weight no matter what I do. I tried working out, diets, calorie deficit, and even relapsing with my ED. I’m fr considering getting my rod taken out and just doing the pill bc I can’t do this anymore

I have ibs and my stomach pains just dont stop, i am bloated non stop. i decided to stop birth control yesterday and see if my ibs gets better.

For me I used birth pills because I was taking roaccutane against acne and you are forbidden to become pregnant while using it. So then I finished the treatment but to maintain at least a low level acne I was still on another birth pill, and I gained kilos every year....now I'm studying at the university and I changed again of pill 2 years ago and I gained like 5kg more even if I'm doing a lot of activities and rating healthy since 6 years, I wanna stop taking any pills to lose weight but I don't want my acne to come back....So what did you do to avoid that and to lose weight ?
