What about tornadoes? In areas where tornadoes are common it's also common to see most homes without basements. With the worst kinds of tornadoes the only way to survive is to go underground

So I’m guessing yall are not city inspectors since I see no HERS certificate being talked about here. But hey! Hire who you want people. Anyone with an a$$hole will have an opinion on your build. Go through your city or county with a proper permit so you don’t waste money hiring these guys.

If you get air in your house from around the brick and window then the window isn’t installed properly. A lot of air travels behind brick to allow for drying.

I do NDT inspecting cranes for a living, so while there isn't a whole lot of different stuff to look at I do look at a ton of welds and structures I have a massive amount of respect for home inspectors who have to memorize many different codes and inspect a large amount of different components. They hold greedy builders and poor craftsmanship accountable
@carlwilson1483Күн бұрын
LMAO these guys don’t. If you need to hire someone to tell you to seal a window, then you shouldn’t be building. A REAL inspector sent by the city would request what’s called a HERS testing certificate which would have identified the window air gaps. If you are getting city inspections then you are wasting money hiring these clowns 🤡

EVERYTHING on the internet is staged. I wish more people realized this. Your whole speech was probably taken more than once until you felt it was good, and you already knew the box was gonna be still on the filter. EVERYTHING on internet is staged people. If someone is filming with the intent⁶ of getting attention and editing of the video its not genuine.
@SherrifOfNottinghamКүн бұрын
I mean yeah, everything is staged to an extent But there's a certain level of dishonesty with your statement, by stating what you did, you're implying that he put the box there, and the sad reality is he doesn't have to do it. Builders and trade workers are directly incentivized to work fast, not smart or right.

Unfortunately stuff like this happens across multiple industries. I work basic IT, replacing hardware and such. The amount of times that I have found PC case fans not plugged in when responding to an overheating unit is pretty astounding. Usually from bad MSPs either trying to manufacture a problem so that you call them more often, thus paying them more money, or out of sheer laziness. Maximum laziness in fact, as anyone who has built a PC can tell you how quick and easy it is to plug those fans in. Makes me wish there was like, a community driven list of "approved" suppliers for X service/product at the local and national levels. That's definitely riff for other forms of corruption and incompetence but I can't help but think it'd be better than throwing darts at board blindfolded, which is what it seems to be these days when looking for just about anything from a contractor or a plumber to a cellphone repair store or just about any other trade honestly.

I still have to correct my service, I had to use oversized aluminum due to being completely unable to acquire the proper stuff at the time. I had to trim a couple strands too, it was meant to be very temporary but life happens and has been 2 years now. I also have a compilation of eaton, Siemens, and square d breakers in my meter box and sub panel because I couldn’t get the correct brand at the time. I will be replacing my 100 amp service soon with a 200 so hopefully everything will get corrected then. Couldn’t get a 200 amp meter panel at the time either. Still can’t find half of this stuff here but I’m just ordering everything this time, this little town has nothing.

I would do electrical work even though I've never been licensed for 120Vac work. I would look up and research code for this voltage and best practices before doing any work of this level. (Non-compliant electrical work pissed me off as a fire alarm technician and would do the same for residential electric wiring.)
