Her IQ at current test standard is 178 or 132 depends on what test she took you measure it. Also being un academic as she is, many tests that do require knowledge she will fail , like computer science where she is quite ignorant. as time goes by people become more and more intelligent in the upper scale, the smart people of 100 years ago are noting in todays standard. and if you go 1000 years ago they where practically idiots in today's standard.

A slightly older Marilyn deflects better than when she was younger. Liked the comments about politicians. In the US, there's that popular vote. Are there advantages to being really smart? Maybe no. Not that many centuries back they used to burn men, women for knowing how to read or write. The official power of thumbscrew. Or mal-magic? Gossip or evil eye? After a few generations you start to have a society, or kingdom, that is feudalistic. Like the BCE Egyptians. Been on PBS a number of times. Very stable society as it doesn't really change all that much. As you might be able work for yourself (and not the group good) and get ahead without permission or official designation. Been on PBS too, quite a lot. In the public mind. Cause and effect, or to put it a different way, we get what we vote for and not what we didn't vote for. A binary situation.

what has she accomplished with her intelligence? Cured cancer? become a grandmaster at chess? Unified the theories of quantum and Newtonian physics? I'd really like to know w/o going to wikipedia's e-begging website. :) Just looked her up on web search. It says author, basically. So she hasn't used her super intelligence for anything. sweet.

Many will find this comment controversial but we really need to stop these simping comments, this lady has done nothing to earn it. She acts like a victim that she wasn't encouraged to do anything while literally being one of the most privileged people in the world. She can learn almost anything she wants at a pace nearly no one else in the world can compete with. She had an advantage over the vast majority of the population her entire life, yet decided to squander her gift. Why are we listening to her as if shes an oracle? Stop buying into this notion that she is amazing; she is a well-spoken person with an astronomical IQ who has squandered it in almost every right. She had contributed almost nothing meaningful to society other than being interviewed by people asking her about her IQ. There are many more amazing women who actually are worthy of being interviewed and have a much lower IQ than her who have accomplished amazing things without playing the victim card.

I suppose that if you are a woman of long-lasting attractiveness that belies your years you just cant help that natural attractiveness as does this lady, even though she decries women who try too hard to promote their sexiness. I am an old man who happens to have always been attracted to a woman of natural looks over a woman who has put in countless hours to groom her looks more towards glamour. Men can and do have preferences towards either approach. Women in assessing other women can have the same bias also. A long-standing question, the response to which is unexplainable in technical terms is,,, Ginger or Maryanne?

I think the concept of science and the usage of the scientific theory is highly intelligent but i dont think scientist need to be smart necessasrily they just have to be educated. A smart person can tell a scientist what to research and thats all the smarts needed. Evading the question at the of if shes ever called herself an idiot, stupid question was so smooth and classy. Shes so awesome in everyway i wish i could be her pool boy

I doubt she’s on the same level as Nikola Tesla, who had an IQ of roughly 230. The Average IQ of a person is between 85 to 115, so it’s understandable how a mistake like that was made. Her IQ is most-likely in the ballpark of 130-145. She’s more intelligent than most people, however I don’t believe she ever held a candle to historical philosophers & or scientists. She’s probably one of the smarter people alive today, but that’s about it.

With an IQ of 228 isn't becoming a minor author and columnist a bit of an underachievement? Not really up there with Einstein, Shakespeare, Gauss, Michelangelo etc, etc is it! Rather shows that a high IQ does not necessarily equate to real genius.

She leaves out one key detail of her family history. She's NOT an anomaly in the family. Her paternal grandfather was physicist Ernst Mach (think Mach 1, Mach 2), who was one of the best physicists of all time and bridged the gap between Newton and Einstein. I have no idea why she pushes the coal miner narrative. It goes to show intelligence is mostly a heritable trait.

My IQ test score was 169. I never mention it. I did not go to college after being valedictorian because my goal in life was a family. I drove a truck for over 30 years to support my wife and children. Played golf and basketball for fun and exercise. High IQ helps me to learn quickly and easily, but little advantage in life.

I wish I could ask Marilyn this riddle. I think she would say the answer straight away. A riddle I found in the dead sea scrolls. The problem is glaring. The answer not so much. " Words of the book which Michael spoke to the Angels.....He said: I found there divisions of fire [and I saw there] nine mountains: two to the east, and two to the west, two to the north and two to the south. I saw there the Angel Gabriel." (4Q529, 6Q23) I could not reconcile the 9th mountain on my own. After hearing the answer, it to was glaring. I was praying one night and remembered the riddle. I asked the Lord about it. I heard the answer in my prayer thought. The voice in my thoughts said that Michael was standing on top of the ninth mountain. Not a big deal but a riddle none the less.
