Having only used Siril (and Photoshop) to process my Seestar inages so far, it is interesting to see the similar processes in PI. I can see a lot of parallels in the steps. I think for me and where I am at, Siril will remain my go-to, PI is just too expensive for me for what could be a marginal improvement.

Super information...............have not tried PixInsight yet, been using Siril and still learning, may have to give this program a go. Do have a question though, you mentioned not using the Light Pollution filter.........is that normal for imaging galaxies, and you mention just using the IR filter..............is that a setting on the Seestar, or a third party filter you install when shooing, I have not heard of that. I really enjoy using the Seestar, but want to get more out of editing my images, videos like yours really help!

Justin, I'm a newbie and just got PixInsight and a SeeStar. My question is how do you get your sub files onto your computer. It seems that Seestar gives me a stacked JPEG and A Stacked Fit file of the files I selected. How are you able to access a file of your Light files on your computer?

This video is my go-to for processing in PI. I made a word doc outlining your exact process, I have it open to refer to each time I use PI. Funny that PI and the XTerminator add-ons are more than the Seestar but so worth it. I can already see that with this process, I will be outgrowing my Seestar 50 down the road. Well done Justin! Thank you!

Is this actually a beginner-friendly software? I just ordered S50 as my first step into the very basics of astrophotography, before getting some more pro gear down the line. But not sure if I should get the PI software? Money is not a problem, just want something easy to learn for editing and starting with, and not getting overwhelmed and loosing interest because of it.

PI is not a beginner-friendly software but there is a plethora of KZfaq videos teaching how to use it. Adam Block Studios also has excellent tutorials on his site.

This is a fantastic tutorial. I just followed it to process my first Seestar image of M42. When I looked and saw you only had 2 videos up and 87 subscribers I couldn't believe it. Great work!

Is there a way to make the process and scripts you use stay on the workspace and come back when I launch again? I like having them out like you do but when I quit I must add them again.

Thank you for a great learning opportunity………..Would you please do the same tutorial using Orion Nebula from S50 with just Pixinsight plus the AC Astro scripts please. Most of us very very new people only have one primary program and Orion is almost always the first target given its brightness. Your method of teaching is wonderful. Please.

The Seestar is amazing for grabbing that initial data. Combined with a image workflow similar to yours it really shines as a tiny portable imaging solution. I’m now seriously looking at my defunct £4000 imaging scope gathering dust……

The Terminator add-ons are spectacular but for me, starting now, they are out of budget. Could the same thing be done without these plugins??? Could you use Starnet++ for example???
@justinthedark_atx
@justinthedark_atx 8 ай бұрын
@@julianpinol1572 Absolutely for the star removal. Starnet++ was one of the original programs used for that purpose. Also, I just learned you still can get the ez processing suite for free for deconvolution and noise reduction. You just have to download the scripts locally now. Here's a link to PixInsight forums info on how to do it. pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?threads/🚀-exciting-news-the-ez-processing-suite-project-continues-🚀.21816/
