This has given me many questions as well. I've seen testimonials from people who have been to he'll who are Christians that went to hell because of unforgiveness. They said that they went there as a warning to all. This is definitely something to study up on

This has been quite challenging, Terra. Thinking about it and reading the scriptures, I could be very wrong but this is how I see it. When a person is justified by faith and given the Holy Spirit as a guarantee of eternal life, he is forgiven the eternal consequences of sin. He is secure. If he has to FIRST forgive, then is this not a justification by works? Once he has been justified then the work of sanctification begins and the Holy Spirit brings conviction of the unforgiveness he is holding onto. If he then grows in his faith, truly becoming a (life-laid-down) disciple of the Lord Jesus, but continues to hold onto unforgiveness, he will experience the anguish and the agonising torment of one who feels cut off from the presence of our God (Matthew 18:21-35). The fear of the living God should drive him to obey Him in this area (Mark 11:25). So while he might still make it to heaven, he will be disciplined here on earth (he reaps what he sows, won’t be forgiven his sins here, tormented by his own resentment) and will lose any rewards he might have gained during this time of living outside of Jesus’ command to forgive. Can I feel I have every reason to hang on to my unforgiveness? We all know it can lead to resentment, bitterness, divisiveness etc the marks of the flesh. We are told to put off and put on. If I am truly saved then the Holy Spirit will not allow me to get away with living in the flesh. And if I insist on it, then Hebrews 10 might ?? apply, but if I am aware of my unforgiveness and desperate to be free of it, struggling (especially if it was a terrible life changing thing done against me eg rape, murder of a loved one etc) then my heart is soft and God is merciful to bring me to that place of understanding and repentance. I believe He will not let me go until He has brought me there. (I have walked my own hellish road of living with unforgiveness, but thank God He brought me to repentance. It took time for the layers to be peeled away). I am open to correction and would love to hear from others 💖.

Psalm 139:9-10 caught my attention anew as we read it. If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall LEAD … not just hold, but LEAD. Oh Lord please lead my lost family back to your heart. Faithful, faithful God so worthy of all our praise! Tears are dripping with gratitude for His love! Thank you, precious sister, for ministering so faithfully each day. May you and yours be abundantly rewarded and blessed over and over again 💖.
