I fell in love with the regenerative braking on my 2024 Accord Touring Hybrid! In fact now when I drive my traditional 2019 Ford F-150 I catch myself feeling for the paddle to increase braking. My biggest problem with the paddles came when I found them... The dealer didn't mention what they were or how they work. ( if they did, it did not sink in after being introduced to all the new gadgets!) Paddles on the steering wheel are for shifting the transmission, right? Honda probably should sit you down and watch several videos before turning you loose. Active Lane Assist, Regenerative Braking, Collision Avoidance, Re-Active Cruise Control....... On the subject of Braking and Cruise Control if you start coasting too fast down a hill in cruise control it fill engage regenerative braking and turn on the Brake lights! I tend to react to Brake lights on the vehicle in front of me. All in all I like the car. I have what I call a "Smarter than Me" phone and now I have a "Smarter than Me" car!

Simple explanation. I fully believe hybrid is more efficient than a pure EV or PHEV. Why Hyundai is putting all its eggs in the basket in Bryan County, Georgia, to stick only with EV’s which might be prohibitively costly for Georgians is problematic. And, without the infrastructure ( fast charging stations) try driving any interstate in Georgia and finding working charger. Yeah, good luck with that.

I am writing to express my deep concern about a serious safety issue I have encountered with my 2024 Honda CRV. Specifically, the visibility provided by the vehicle’s headlights is dangerously inadequate, particularly during nighttime driving in rainy conditions. Despite the headlights appearing to be bright, they fail to illuminate the road properly. Instead, they project light straight ahead, leaving the road lines almost invisible. This has made driving extremely perilous, especially under adverse weather conditions. I have brought this issue to the attention of my dealership, but they insist there is no problem and have stated that the headlight angle cannot be adjusted. This is a critical safety hazard that puts my life and the lives of others at risk. I urge Honda to take immediate action to investigate this issue and issue a recall if necessary. The safety of your customers should be a top priority, and I strongly believe this issue warrants urgent attention and resolution.

I just bought a new Honda and I really don’t like this. I have LKAS off but it still shakes the wheel if I get close to a line. We have some bad roads where I live so this becomes more of a danger than a useful feature. 1st day driving it nudged me into oncoming traffic. How do I completely disable the “motor type features” in the wheel?

I 'm glad I read the comments. We were seriously considering the CRV. We currently own a 2015 Acura RDX and the headlights are awful. Good headlights is a big deal. I guess I will cross this one off the list.Bummer, cause it looks really nice and has great reviews but I can not go another 8-10 years with bad headlights. I'll just keep shopping.

I have noticed that if you are driving along at a constant speed and select increasing levels of the regen braking, the car will slow down and you have to give it more gas to maintain the same speed. Seems like this is counterproductive and is burning up more gas. Why would the system begin slowing you down when you haven't let up on the gas? So far this doesn't make sense to me.
@Thebuird2 ай бұрын
I don’t get why I’d want it on either. I guess to charge the battery quicker. Or to save the brake pads since the car slows by just cutting the engine speed
@johnschmidt84402 ай бұрын
@@Thebuird I have since done a lot more testing with the system and found that my first comment is not correct. The system does not produce any extra drag. It was just an illusion. In the meantime I have used the regen braking extensively and have found that it actually is super excellent. For city driving I get 54 mpg, and around 46-49 in mixed driving. I also have completely come to love the regen braking effect because this car can be driven with one pedal driving, where the regen braking does nearly all the braking. I almost never touch the regular brakes anymore, which means they are going to last forever. It's really quite fantastic.
@Thebuird2 ай бұрын
@@johnschmidt8440 thanks for the info! I just leased a 2024 CRV Hybrid two days ago. Came from a 2020 Camry Hybrid. I’m definitely going to try it out more, I was hesitant about it. Saving on brake pads would be great, I hate paying for new pads. I’m still confused by how extra mileage is produced, but I’m going to test it out and hopefully I can mimic what you’re able to pull off. We’re absolutely loving the vehicle and am very happy we switched to Honda
@johnschmidt84402 ай бұрын
@@Thebuird A CRV is unlikely to get as good of mileage as I get in an Accord, but it will still be better than a pure gas vehicle. So give it a shot and see what happens!
