I found your videos on KZfaq and watched most of them, which inspired me to reach out. First of all, thank you for your service. I have always been interested in becoming an Air Force nurse, but the age limit was quite restrictive before, and I didn't have much experience. I recently discovered that the maximum age limit has been raised to 47 years old, which has reignited my interest in becoming an Air Force nurse. Before I see a recruiter, I would like to ask you a few questions, if you don't mind: 1. What tests do I need to take during the application process? 2. What tests are required during OTS, and what happens if I don't pass them? 3. What is the maximum age for active-duty Air Force nurses? 4. Will I have the opportunity to stay at an international base for longer than six months, based on my preferences? 5. I have three years of experience in IMC and ICU and two years as an acute care case manager (away from bedside skills). What field would you recommend I apply for? Thank you for your time and assistance.
@genesis.kts_3 күн бұрын
Hello. Thanks for your comment. 1. no test, just one or two interviews depending on what specialty you are going. 2. 2 major tests during OTS; academic assessment 1 and 2. 3. maximum age now i believe is 47. 4. depending on availability, specialty, and need yes the possibility is there. 5. It depends on what you want to do with your career. I cannot answer this for you. although IMC has more bases, the possibility of going to a base you don't want to may happen.

NPs yes, but they can only function in the RN capacity to which you already are practicing WAYYY beyond your scope of practice in unregulated and even some times regulated missions.

Hey thanks for the video! I’m actually looking into MSC while thinking about getting my masters. Very informative video. The mba program I’m thinking about going into has a ACBSP accreditation.

I’m 19 and turn 20 this year. I want to join the Air Force next summer (still 20). Right now, I’m in engineering school (electrical) and if I join, I’ll have 2 years of college finished (roughly 70 college credits). I want to join for the experience and the vast amount of jobs available in the military. And I’ve seen how the Air Force has some electrical/engineering jobs. Any advice ?
@noodledog7606Ай бұрын
I have also taken the asvab score before , got an 82. In college I have a 3.4 in engineering. However, getting an internship or a job after graduation is something that’s a risk because the market is so competitive. So I may have to wait for a little while before I get a job. I’m interested in cybersecurity as well.

As an Army veteran, I would tell anyone who is interested in joining the military, I would tell them to join the Air Force or the Coast Guard. These branches prioritize their service members' education and quality of life. I'm just saying!

Yep. My dad was navy and saw how bad his family/life balance was and he even told me I would rather you go Air Force even though I'm navy. I can vouch for that for sure. Even our deployment cycles will no longer be 9 months, with the new afforgen phases the air force has limited it to 6.

Hi brother I’m currently in the Army Reserves as 1LT 66S Critical Care Nurse. I want to lateral and join AF as flight nurse because we don’t have it in the Army (flight Paramedics does). I am an RN. I was a corpsman. I would say it's better to be a civilian rn just because of nursing ethics and how following military orders may conflict.
@genesis.kts_2 ай бұрын
I was a civilian prior to joining and will say that there is a fine line that is crossed regularly as a civilian that isn't crossed in the military. that is, practicing outside of your scope. Nursing ethics will always be a point of contention anywhere you work. Military orders you need to discern when to say something. I've been written up so many times protecting a patient, has there been any repercuss? none, because i have always protected the patient regardless of rank or orders. That is where you as a nurse need to be level headed and strong to speak out when taking orders. I see your point, but regarding protection of license I would rather practice in the military right now with the high litigation rates going on in the civilian sector.
