I would not say this is “dominate aggression”. This is genetic aggression that is often found in the breed. It’s also found in cocker spaniels. It’s best to give the dogs lots of training instead of letting them get away with it.

@@yakinkate7946 is that what you think it was? At the time that we had her we hadn’t heard of Fuco and thought it might have been sudden onset aggression.

My 5 month old english cocker spaniel has the exact same behavior, bit my mom once even without warning while my mom try to lift him into his crate. Bit me once while I feed him some treats and growling at me. I running out of patient with him, I show him who's the boss, and try to make him sit and wait before I feed him, reward him with some little treats if he's doing good. He is getting a little better now, but I still can't trust him 100%, might as well rehome him. Oh I miss my last dog, she's such an angle, not like this piece of s.
@jamborino2940Ай бұрын
"I show him who's the boss" "Not like this piece of shit" You clearly aren't a very good dog owner and the dog is reflecting this, anyone who uses these sorts of phrases and says nonsense like "might as well rehome him" just show that they're the issue, not the dog. Even educate yourself to be a better owner or stop getting dogs as you clearly aren't fit to own one.

This is horrible to make this dog so fearful. The owner is escalating this behaviour. This is not aggresive dominate behaviour.
@CutterOfGems5 ай бұрын
Regardless of the cause of this "aggression" the dog should NEVER be allowed to behave this way. There it sits on the couch growing like a monster - and she gets away with it. Zero consequences. She should not be allowed on the sofa until she can behave nicely. How many people has she bitten? OR tried to bite? Unacceptable.

I had 3 Springers in my life. First two no problems. My last one was a biter. I had her 9 years and could never break her of it. She bit me many times, anything she did not like she would not hesitate to bit. She had to be muzzled at the Vet and would still try and bit them. She was big resource guarder, but also any simply correction she took offense to. She bit me again a few months ago, 3 deep punctures, and brusing on my wrist from bite pressure .I simply had reached down to put her leash on her. That was it, I called the Vet and took her in to euthanized. I gave her 9 years and it broke my heart, I did love her. I could never travel in those years because I could not board her or have a pet sitter knowing full well she may bite them, she was a big liability and I could have been sued. I was probably a fool to keep her as long as I did. I'll never own another Springer now, she ruined me for the breed unfortunately. I once owned an Akita who had no aggression yet this Springer did. Sigh.

You waited 9 years to get rid of it? Imagine the damage it could inflict on neighbor children if a ball rolled into your yard. It's baffling how most people seem to tolerate ill-behaved dogs with dangerous aggression.

My springer has this behaviour too I can't do anything with him! I've had to put him separate in a different place because he dominates a spot and won't move if I get him to move he shows this behaviour

I had a 13 year old dog started to behave like this and sadly he had a underlying diabetes problem that was present but being treated for other conditions and classic signs of behaviour and aggression and fighting was classic symptoms of fluctuations of blood sugar levels and neurological problems

Ours gets shitty over breakfast / dinner - however, you can take the bowl away he just tries to warn you off but we just ignore him and we give it him straight back. He’s bitten me before over his space - he’s at his worst when he’s tired and doesn’t want to move from wherever he is.
@CutterOfGems5 ай бұрын
So you think it prudent to keep a biter? When he gets loose and bites the face of a child, how will you respond? Will you expect sympathy because you are hapless and won't lift a finger to control your animal? Will you tell the child, oh well, too bad? Dogs that are bad should not be pets.

I can tell you that all the people who think they can diagnose this situation or judge the owners have not experienced this in person. It comes out of nowhere and is very hard on the dog and the family. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it myself.

its the owner that needs training the dog is just petrified and is looking to defend itself because it has no leader , this is not typical springer behaviour, and as for giving him a reat when his growling at you your just telling him that by rewarding him , its ok to do this
@CutterOfGems5 ай бұрын
The dog and owner need training, but that dog is not fearful. That dog is angry and hostile. It wants to be boss and it is boss. What a liability.

Tail down, small eyes ... I don't see any aggression (in some of the videos). Have you been to the vet to check if she is in pain? Or maybe she got a neurological issue. She seemed to me like a dog who doesn't know how to communicate her issues. In the first video she sits a bit strange on her butt - maybe an indicator for something? I am just guessing. Is she this way, when there is no cellphone in front of her? Do you have a dog trainer? What is her/his opinion? I'm feeling very sorry for her, because she is not well - but why is the question. This video is over 3 years old - have you had the chance to solve her problem? 💚
