This isn't a "hindsight is 20/20 thing at all." This is common sense and anyone with real-world experience knows this. It lacked proper planning from the start. Take ownership of your faults, that's number one. Number two is for anyone that foolishly voted to "Save North Pond" and ridiculously costed us residents $2 million, should be responsible for the additional taxation to maintain, secure, and patrol the area properly and thoroughly. Our tax rate went up for a select few upper middle-class and higher to "preserve" an area that we've never once used nor will ever use, despite the recent BS that just happened. That's their area of the town, they need to be accountable for it. It was always just a "Save Our Property Values" ploy. Now those same entitled "Save North Pond" people want the security and protection required for an area like this...and again, at everyone else's expense. Enough is enough. Develop the area and gain the taxation benefits to further provide proper resources to the town - as it should've been in the first place.

I remember growing up in Southwick, you would always hear the distinct sound of the siren from the town's fire department. The firemen's parade and carnival were a great part of Southwick's rich history. We would watch the parade from Southwick Plaza- where Roma's was originally. Good times! I also loved the signs they made advertising the carnival and the Policeman's Ball - there was always one placed by the road at Pioneer Dairy. It would be cool if those old signs still existed. And if they do, it would be cool to see them make their way to the local history museum.

Thanks! It feels good to know that 80 gigabytes of video recording over four days and 40 hours of editing produced something "cool" ;)
