One thing that irks me, is the way casting directors don't seem to respect that talent and time of the performers. As a performer, you are just expected to jump through so many hoops and do audition after audition. Then in one moment you go from not having a job and waiting for weeks, to bam, drop everything in your life and go on tour. There is no reason that these people can't be more communicative and efficient with their audition process. It just seems that they literally don't respect performers because they view them as replaceable.

I am so happy for you. This is also one of my dream roles as well. I don’t have any acting experience hopefully I can pursue that dream of going to acting.

Hi hun! Thankyou for this video. The ‘additional payments’ an actor could get was interesting. Just to plunk out an example you said being a dance captain was an extra £78. Is that an extra £78 per hour? I don’t get how it works! 🧐. Also what happens to the actors when the show ends? Some shows only last for a month or two! What happens in the dry periods??

So wait...back up...Love Never Dies has been doing rounds in China for a few months. I took my students to see the show. Phantom is coming next month...same British company. mind blown. I am so curious about a western performers perspective on the Chinese audience. They do this thing where they film the bows so the applause kind of stops...and the orchestra is the star of the show. It's a phenomena I have only seen since living in China.
