I Have the slim Digital its pretty Quite

Mines exactly the same. I've tried sitting it vertically, horizontally. It just ramps the fan to 100% and it doesn't slow down until you close the game. PSVR2 is the same. It actually turns me off wanting to play it.

FYI: the fan in the slim is smaller than the one in the phat by almost 2 mm so it is a more noticeable sound when it's running. As long as you are not getting overheating warnings it is fine. Also Sony's recommendation says do not place the PS5 Slim in any enclosed space if the cabinet you're putting in does not have an open back you should not be putting it in there.

I ended up buying a foxconn fan and a delta fan from aliexpress to replace my ufo nmb fan. Definitely a lot quieter. The foxconn fan does a weird noise when starting up and closing a games and the delta fas you can just hear the fan but no where near as loud as his. Ive been play raganork which is a more intense game.

the only solution for me it was remove the covers remove the covers from the top to leave the fan exposed and it was solved but it looks ugly ithis console is a garbbage maybe i will sell the console and i will buy ps5 fat again

I don’t know if this helps for someone but here’s my experience: I got my ps5 “slim” one week ago, I had it set it up in a place like this guy, it was even bigger, 20 cm free on both sides and 30cm from the rear wall, I HAD THE SAME ISSUE, exactly same sound, yesterday I put it on top next to the tv and omg, problem fixed. The problem is when you have the console in a closed space where the hot air can’t escape, doesn’t matter how big the space is, if it’s closed on the back the air will return to the console and that’s why it forces the vents to get it cooler. Get that console out of there

Same for me, only solution bring back to the shop...

Had my slim since launch in a well ventilated area standing vertically with the stand. Mine is quiet….. Your shit sounds like a blow dryer. Mines super quiet and use it damn near every day. I don’t play Fortnite tho

It might be enough airflow but it’s a tiny cube so the system is heating up the air in there sucking hot air back in and not getting cool air. I’m willing to bet your fan is like that because you have it in essentially an oven.

You're very dumb. When that thing heats up, the heat can only escape on one side, where that warm air is sucked up by the fan, when it should get colder air instead.

My PS5 Slim has UFO hovering noise, just like 1st Gen PS5, it's not working quietly like 2nd and 3rd Gen PS5. What a disappointment...

So the issue is that you lost the fan lottery. The slims come with different fan models so you wont know until you test it. My has the hum/whine when the fan spins up but its no where near as loud as yours. I can hear the fan spin up then die down. Then back up again then itll stay that way. I dont even notice it anymore

Yes looks at how you store it there’s no ventilation the air comes in from the top front and out through the bottom back of the console it’s all just collecting in the cabinet your fan is the life support as soon as that goes your fucked 😂

Your TV stand has a closed back and the PS5 heat dissipate at the back. Not the left or the right side you showed. Also you right in running a game, don't expect it will be silent. You didn't shown what happening when watching a movie or something?!

Notice that he had a game running while the PS five was turned on. I bet you that the inside of that room is hot and he’s had that PlayStation running that game for hours. That is going to crank up the fan speed of any console, no matter how new it is, and no matter where you position it.

Get the G-Story fan but make sure you have the Original Panel on the opposite side so you don't lose the air that you are pumping in . I have the Slim Version yes it gets hot cause it's smaller and still produces the same amount of heat as the tall one . And buy the Scryer Artic cooler for the rear to help exhaust the heat . This will give you more air flow .
