Lovely pages. I ended up getting the Staedler WC markers and 3 books by Camilla d'errico. I did a page with the WC markers, I am sold. 😍

This maybe a dumb question, but how do you know which product to use for what you want to do? secondly what advice can you give a beginner person just starting out?
@sarahcarabotcolours95178 күн бұрын
Hi! Good question! I honestly just wing it a lot of the time! However, I’ve been colouring since 2013 so I’ve learnt a lot along the way. It’s really a matter of trial and error! You start to learn what works in certain books and not in others. What mediums you enjoy working with or don’t etc. It all comes with time really! As a beginner, colour alongs definitely will help you to learn what works as the colourist has usually already worked it out for you for that book. If I’m not sure what I want to use and unsure if it will look good, I take a photo of the page and print out a copy on another piece of paper and try it out :)

This is so beautiful! I’ve never heard of watercolour markers either! I noticed you put water down first and then the colour, just curious why you would do it that way instead of colour directly?
@sarahcarabotcolours951711 күн бұрын
I put water down and colour the marker onto the plate so it doesn’t get streaking. It’s also harder to lift the colour once it’s soaked into the paper. I find I don’t get the same beautiful effects of marker goes down first :) The pens are just water-based markers essentially. You can do it with any water based marker that you like! Crayola Supatips have a huge range of colour and will do the same affects!
@jenniferb.awesome12 күн бұрын
I've heard of watercolor pencils, but not watercolor markers. They look so fun to use and so much easier since the color won't spread onto the the dry parts. Definitely gonna be my next medium of art to try.
@sarahcarabotcolours951712 күн бұрын
It is super fun! I don’t like the powdery feeling normal watercolour has once it dries (I have sensory processing issues) and the pens don’t have that! I’m addicted to using them now 😂

I wish I could do that. I tried working with the masking fluid before and it smelled so bad I was nauseas. I know it's basically liquid latex. But it was unbearable. Probably because it smelled so bad and made me feel ill, needless to say, I didn't do such a good job with it and got ink on portions of my page I didn't want it to go.
