You paid 50 cents that if stocks go higher you buy them? Why not just wait for the stock to goes higher and buy them without paying 50 cents? Sorry I’m lost

These are very valuable rules for anybody who wants to get rich. Unfortunately, most people who will watch this video will not really be able to apply the principles. We may not want to admit, but as Warren Buffett once said, investing is like any other profession-- it requires a certain level of expertise. No surprise that some people are losing a lot of money in the bear market, while others are making hundreds of thousands in profit. I just don't know how they do it. I have about $89k now to put in the market.

Understanding personal finances and investing will most likely lead to greater financial independence. By being knowledgeable about money and investing, individuals can make informed decisions about how to save, spend, and invest their money. I know someone who made over $350k in this recession influenced market, but to the best of my knowledge, it was through a financial advisor.
@Jamessmith-12Күн бұрын
Yeah, financial advisors could make a lot of difference, particularly in a market such as this. Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look. I have been using an FA since 2019, and I return at least $21k ROI, and this does not include capital gain.

I’m 51 hoping to end the rat race by 60 with above $1M. I know money is a liability to be exchanged for assets with real value like real estate (properties for rent) stocks (dividends) bonds (interest) But, what is it with bitcoin? I hear a lot about it and I'd love to diversify.
@PhilTownRule1InvestingКүн бұрын
Great question! For our purposes and strategy at Rule #1, diversify is a dirty word. We like to keep our portfolios small and focused on 3-5 companies we deeply understand. With that being said, Bitcoin is not a company and wouldn't qualify as a part of our strategy. Phil has shared his thoughts on Bitcoin here around minute 3:32: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gaxznbSKxJaycqM.html If you want to really dive into our strategy, we recommend signing up for an upcoming virtual or in-person workshop! You can do so at ruleoneinvesting.com.

Freedom you are so lucky to have a family member go to Rule #1 with a family member. I would have loved to have my brother or a friend go with me. It's nice to learn alongside someone and work together to put the principles and "rules" into practice! It's also good for having different strengths that you can build off of.... like having someone that is good with spreadsheets! All the best to you!

You can make a lot of connections with fellow students (new Rulers) during the class, and it's been a huge help to me bouncing ideas off other likeminded people. You're not alone when you start, and you definitely have the control on how far you go.

You realize 40-50 years ago, people COULD save money because the majority had pensions and could steer their money elsewhere, like homeownership, savings, etc. then Reagan came along and busted up unions and made to where WE were now having to save for retirement as well as everything else. Also, education was more subsidized until……Reagan again who did NOT believe in subsidizing education.

"Having a comprehensive financial plan is essential. I collaborate with a licensed planner and fixed-income strategist in LA to optimize my portfolio. The fixed-income component not only mitigates the volatility of equities but also generates a steady income stream. Investing wisely means buying freedom - a day you don't have to work. However, we're currently navigating a significant market downturn. Inflation has reached catastrophic levels, and the latest CPI report is a stark reminder of this failure. To stabilize the housing market, the FED may need to take drastic measures, but this could have far-reaching consequences for other markets, making it a challenging situation to address."

"To achieve success, you must own your emotions and actions, rather than blaming others. Shifting the blame may momentarily alleviate guilt, but it ultimately hinders personal growth and accountability. Just as investments carry risk, yet can yield success, taking ownership of your life is crucial. To thrive, focus outward and acknowledge your agency. The first step to successful investing - and living - is taking responsibility for your choices and actions. Wise words indeed!"

I love this question. I noticed Michael Burry loaded up with a bunch of companies last quarter, many with red numbers, and I thought that was so weird. This market is so high, so many co overvalued, I really wished I could get Phil’s take on why he would do that, esp at *this* particular moment in time. We are overdue for a black swan.

I don't think I missed it... Would you please wrap up the discussion on the San Diego project and its implications for the investment in question. Thank you.
@PhilTownRule1Investing4 күн бұрын
Thanks for the question. Regarding the San Diego property and the bank that made the investment, we have to be able to determine if the bank is doing what they said they would do regarding their lending practices, or if that is NOT the case. When making that determination we need to consider if the story has changed or not. In this case, we would want to find out if the questionable property is a one off, or if there are others and this is the beginning of the story change. If we determine that the story has changed, it's time to get out.

It was another video interview like this, - with a Rule One coach who’s a single mom - that prompted me to pull the trigger and attend the workshop in Atlanta. I’d been considering it for yrs, but her story convinced me. Women can have influence!! Agree with everything Freedom is saying here. Also, we need to teach our DAUGHTERS to be investors too - example: Danielle Town!

I'm 32 and my income is lower than when I was 19 and I'm totally dependent. I'm also just learning how to drive and going to community college. I'll be going through everything I should have done in my early 20s but with the societal expectations of a 30 year old on my shoulders. Bleh, maybe I can still make up for lost time but it's hard not to get discouraged
