I never knew nursery pillows were a thing, but that looks super useful and easy to make. 10:30 Aaawww that is so sweet. 12:50 I saved a bunch of free patterns to make plushies to learn how I can make my own, but I told myself to only start that AFTER Dragonair is done.... but i still got the yarn. Aawwww Morty is good doggo. For the tails, I have absurdly long tails for knitting, not as bad for crocheting. But, I weave it back in soooo much. 23:50 Nearly every project has an ugly phase. Dragonair- The new hoop I got was still slipping, so I got grip tape at walgreens and wrapped it around. Now it's a lot better. I've barely started on it and am mostly going in and making embroidery have better coverage before doing the rest. I think I have settled on a design for the stained glass blanket. We'll see, that may change. The super cursed project, the main elements are done. Next is making the boxes it will sit in and be shipped in. I remembered ebay and goodwill online exist. Since the in person embroidery machines fell through, I checked there. I set my standard to CD era or newer. If it was floppy disk or coding punch card eras, I don't want to mess with it. So I found 1 that is still currently being sold for $1,000, on ebay for $500. While watching this, the bid finished and I got it. I also got some embroidery thread on there for about $0.29 each versus the $0.55 - $0.60 each that I was finding on amazon. Also, amazon currently has the silhouette cameo 4 (a cricut competitor) for like $150. I'm tempted.. but maybe not right after getting an embroidery machine and with the desk still not built.

🤔I like the idea of chaos crochet. Just imagine a stuffed ball with chaos crochet and massive black dots for eyes 😂. One day, I'd love to go from raw either cotton or silk cocoons, create thread, weave it, then create something with the fabric. Oooo the scarlet mccaw. I love the drastic values in it 👀. 9:36 I wonder how that would look with the first mohars maybe felt punched into it? Modern day Arcade/ Bowling Alley floor 😂. 12:50 Personally, I have found knitting to be easier with atypical yarn versus crochet. With crochet, I can't find the loops and it ends up looking weird. That may be why it's more common in knitting than crochet? I'd love to see what chaos you create with it for crocheting ^^. 14:55 I know socks but that's boring. The darn good yarn sub does sound like a good idea 🤔. Maybe after I pair down my project list... Dragonair- I managed to put sequins on the other eye. That was a pain because I used super glue to keep the ends in place. Bad idea for while you're working on it. Had to use a combo of my pliars and my bees wax to get it through. I also solidified which iris technique I'm doing. Next is just doing the black area of the 2nd eye now. Other crafts- This weekend, I got a yarn caker for like $17 on amazon and caked **all** of my yarn. Iiii alsoo maaaay have caved for the 50%+ off yarn sale at Joanns and ordered all the yarn for the stained glass blanket. Do I have a design? Nope. I do know I want it bilaterally symmetrical since I want to create a weighted blanket and it will be a giant scene, no symmetry at all. Note- If you use or cake a hank of yarn, at LEAST wrap it around some dining chair legs. I had a hank that was about half way caked and turned into a MASSIVE knot. Took 3.5 hours and 3 cuts to fully undo. 6:45 Yeah, I was sneezing all weekend from the lint 😂. Oh, if you get one, don't use your wrist. Keep your wrist straight and use your elbow and shoulder. Otherwise, it will hurt very quickly I also may have hopped on fb marketplace and found someone selling an embroidery machine for about $360. Considering they usually go for about $2,000... yeah. I'm picking up later today. Bad timing though because I have to do a fresh windows install cause I've been having weird issues with discord and fusion. Nothing's helping. So I need to backup all my data. I needed to get some new ssds because I didn't have enough space on my current backup for that OH, I picked up the tops for my desk 👀. Basically, this desk has become a meme in my friend group because I've been working on it for about 2-3 years now. I don't think it will be finished this month, but there is progress being made. Next purchases would be the leveling feet, which is weirdly expensive and probably some odds and ends. soon. soon.

i love anything that looks like bowling alley carpet HAHA that's so spot on. If you are on the eyes of the Dragonair you must be pretty close to the end right?? Sounds like it is really coming along! An embroidery machine?!? omfg that is so cool!! I have the most basic ass sewing machine right now and whenever I do upgrade her I will definitely be getting a computerized one with embroidery because it seems so fun to put embroidery on everything!!! Would be so fun to embellish clothes I already have that are boring lmfao

@@maddiesweirdworld I think the eyes of the dragonair will take the longest amount of time. Next is actually cutting the fabric out and stitching it together, the head wings, the horn, then stuffing it. Soooo the embroidery machine fell through :/. The 1st one, the lady backed out deciding to keep it. Fair. The 2nd one I was debating between ended up being older than I would like. I thought it came out 2012... nope. 1999/ 2001. Since I know I only want custom designs, I knew converting to a proprietary card wasn't an option. But, apparently new, full price brother machines are like $500-$600. Singer's Husquavarnas are still $1,000+. So I'll save up for a new brother more than likely.

If you're in a city, I suggest checking if there's a fabric recycle location. My local will give you 5lb of new yarn in the form of never bought sweaters and hats for $5. It makes patchwork quilts almost as much about frogging the machine knit as making the new work.

Mohair and lace weight yarns knit (or crocheted) on large diameter needles (or hooks) look really cool (they look underwhelming until you block them). I love the garment examples you show - these yarns will be so perfect. Keep in mind that crochet uses a LOT more yarn than knitting so buying boutique yarns is very, very expensive,

Aaawwwww I love that quilt. Also, where did you get the macaroon tape measure? I have a cloud one but the end keeps breaking off to where now I think nearly 1cm is gone. Do you have a dehumidifier? That might help inside feel more tolerable. 12:00 Oohhh so that's why quilts have that overstitching. Apparently that batting bunching is what happens when you don't do that XD. I looove how it turned out. 🤔 What if it's paired with high waisted, yellow pants with more instruments and clouds. 15:35 Hook and bar or hook and eye. The bar is for overlapping, the eye is to butt together. Dragonair- I finally got part 1 of 4 done with the eyes :D. (As of watching this video, but it's still finished.) So the black area is completely done on 1 eye. Next is not doing the black area of the other eye. Instead, I'm testing out different ways to do the iris aspect. I got the tester set up for tomorrow/ likely during my next meeting. Also, I'm trying so hard to not buy material to make a giant motif quilt, like a scene. Maybe kinda stained glass style inspired? But also just full on a 2nd quilt that's crocheted to look like stained glass. I did get the material to mend the existing quilt when joanns had their 10 for $10 fabric quarters. I want to actually finish some of the longer projects this year and not add to it... too much. Also found a video on tambour embroidery.... so tempting. But, this month I'm thinking of FINALLY buying the tops for my desk. Will have to make sure the garage is ready first though. I played a game this past week called Bugsnax. Might be too cutesy for your style, but now I want to create some of the creatures from it XD. I found an orange peel bug on ravelry and that's how I figured out the game existed. You might like it.

Why service a sewing machine when you can just hit it until it works :). 10:45 Ok, now you have to do that. Ruffle (flounce?) collar and ruffles hiding your hands. Maybe go all out and add spheres for the clown look XD. 11:35 Agreed. My joanns is enough of a drive where I try not to go daily, but I don't dread it. I do like to grab a treat while out on that side of town anyway though. Ooooo, there is a peach stand out that way I haven't been to in a year 🤔. 13:50 I have tried cold brew and didn't care for it. Although, I can't taste bitter so I'm a bit pickier with the quality of coffee XD. My standard is dark roasted beans, black, in a normal coffee brewer because I'm not a morning person, I'm not doing a 20 step thing XD... 14:05 Speaking of intrusive thoughts... that would be a great thing to put above a doorframe and the fingers are below the frame. It also keeps it out of the way :). I do love how it turned out. The ruffle was absolutely worth it. Dragonair- I didn't touch it at all this week BECAUSE of the next thing. I was sooo close to finishing my travel toiletries bag that I wanted to actually finish that. I made all of the pockets for the different things. I managed to actually finish it AND won yarn chicken. It took 4 skeins of the scrubbing yarn, 2 from lilly and sugar and 2 from red heart. 1 skein was just for the pockets. I also had some thick twill muslin that I used fabric paint to paint the list of things I need to bring every time. I painted that out (it was a puffy paint bottle but I cut the hole too big, so it was brushed/ stippled on), added 2 buttons with long thread shanks to go through the yarn so I could attach it, and it's actually finished. Now I can put away the material... which I still haven't done.

You complete projects so quickly ^^. Oooo the Halloween aftermath pumpkin yarn looks cool. I still love the old man lizard. Oooo the eel and horseshoe crab ones look coool. Hope your hands/ wrists feel better now <3. Ooooooo the tapestry looks so cooooool. One thing... I wish I had thought of before now tbh when I did that type of thing in middle school, maybe put a stitch marker at every 10 stitches? Lining up with the grid of the paper? It may help keeping things aligned, or get extremely annoying . I wonder if compression gloves or wrist braces would help? Dragonair update: Nothing insane this week. I've started continuing on embroidering the eyes and kinda want to just get felt for the black area. Not sure how I'll do the iris, but I got some time cause the black alone is taking forever. Both eyes are the size of my hands each, so just very repetitive. I've been going between the embroidery and finishing a travel toiletries bag with the scrubby yarn so it can also be a body wash. I've been making it up as I go and the base is now done. I'm making pockets for each thing and am debating if I should label each pocket or just have 1 giant label as a list reminder. So far, I prefer the red heart scrubby yarn over the sugar and cream scrub atm. The sugar and cream rubs a lot more and I feel works worse for scrubbing when wet? Will have to actually use it more to tell I've also been working on a very much so 18+ troll project house decoration for my friend that I find it hilarious, she may die laughing. It's fine. The pitch: "What if stupidly rich girl bachelorette party gag gift?" It has the actual gift in a wood box, presented like a fancy perfume or wine, with a custom note in a mostly legible font. It's like... 60-70% done and I want to try and mail it out soon

i'm so obsessed with the idea of "halloween aftermath" lmfaoooo I sometimes use stitch markers for tapestry and, while tedious, they do help. I just end up being so lazy and trying to count. Literally just this morning I had to frog a whole row bc i miscounted by 1 HAHA. I do have compression gloves and i sometimes wear them to play overwatch lol but I can't figure out how to keep tension in my left hand while crocheting with them on.. it like messes up my natural feel for crochet or something. I have been thinking lately about trying to learn some embroidery to make more detailed faces as well! I always default to using felt bc its SO fast and i do love how it looks.. even if it isn't as polished haha. I just made a jumbo gummy worm plush that I think will be in one of my next videos and i sure did slap felt eyes on him immediately LOL. Also the troll project sounds so deranged!! I'm loving hearing about all of these ideas. Someone mentioned they might be interested in a discord for the channel where we could all share what we are working on and chat as a lil community, so I might be creating that soon! <3
