i didn't realize the ferenia station one was dependent on cross bombs. my strat was to slide under and through, convert to shinespark in that little room on the left, morph ball back under the bomb blocks, bomb em, then shinespark up

Such a pain in the ass to string together, every last one.

All of them are pretty easy if you know how to time your slides, jumps and pressing down to keep shinespark but Ferenia was damn annoying.

Metroid isnt metroid without the sequence breaks and shinespark puzzles ❤

At Ferenia i kept running even when sliding, jumped to the climber and tilted the stick down at the top

1:20, I made this a lot harder on myself, I would charge the shine spark then clime up, wall jump only that last time then shine spark into the powerup, I never considered wall jumping like that all the way

that last one had me at "what the fuck"

Nothing beats some of the shine sparks in Metroid zero mission especially one of the last e-tanks took me three days I had to sleep on it to be like omg I get it

Some of these challenges are ridiculously hard. This is seriously expert level playing!!

Been there and done that with 100% hard mode. It sucks trying to get it down.

I would give anything to experience all metroid games without knowing them again

Gods, the one where you had to keep running and bounce off the walls without slowing down or stopping was one of the harder ones for me, but the hardest? Where you had to drop down the shaft and THEN trigger the Shinespark to the left onto the hill and keep going; the first one shown in this video. I wasted a solid hour trying to get it right. Yes, I'm a casual player, but when it comes to Metroid, I do the work to 100% the game regardless of the time. The only Metroid I both 100% and did it within a time limit was Metroid Fusion, and that's the easiest one to do it in.

Weird but also fun game mechanic.

I love moments too where the level design is set up for you to carry the speed boost for a while even outside puzzles like these. In particular, I think right after you get the upgrade you can activate it and maintain it all the way to the next set area if you do it right

i did the same thing but scanned it while it was falling and it finished right as it fell into the floor

the second one you can just run up the ramp with the speed boost. no need to shinespark until the end

This is the reason I can't 100% this game I don't got the speed boost skill to do this shit, best I can do as of rn is 94%
