hey, I don’t know if you know this I had the same problems that you do, finally fix them or just doing small water changes more frequently and not messing with the chemical they eventually Balance themselves over a couple months.

I successfully cycled and established my first saltwater tank 3 weeks ago (using Dr Tims One and Only/Amonia, with live rock and live sand). Have a couple of soft corals, 1 LPS and a few hermit crabs. Everything is looking great! Yesterday, I converted one of my other freshwater tanks to saltwater but didn't use Dr Tims One and Only/Amonia, but used live sand and live rock from my first saltwater tank. Do I still need to cycle my tank? Seems all the parameters today seem good. .

So, can I add my live rock in already? That way it starts getting all the beneficial bacteria or so i hold off till the tank is stable

My anemone was done when I left home for 12 days and was expecting that the tank will be a mess because of that anemone when I will be back. Left my tank with just blue light on with very less intensity about 25 watt. Came home and to my surprise it gained its 50% colour back, looked better and took food. So what I have learned is less light only blue and feed once a week and just leave the aquarium as it is.

I hate to laugh, but the censorship of the toasted fish like a body from a news crime scene made me laugh. Had he not censored it I wouldn't have thought twice about seeing a deceased clownfish.

Wow! I'm so goad I stumbled out to this video it explains a lot! Especially why lids from specialty stores charge so much. Totally understand the cost. Lexan or of type product is not cheap to start with. Thank you

UV has worked for me in the past to beat Dinos. I usually do a 48 hour blackout and run UV at the same time and the problem subsides. However the Dinos I'm dealing with now which are basically a rust color film that accumulates on the sand bed the UV sterilizer hasn't worked at all. I've tried manual removal, upping my nutrients, lowering my light schedule and nothing seems to work.

Im a fan of the fluval 123 for my first tank but im concerned with the lighting. A lot of reefers place their lights quite high im guessing to distribute it. But with the stock fluval it is built into the lid, would this be a problem? I would like to grow a variety of coral and i like the fluval 123 for its built in filter!
