Hi Derek, it looked like Harry was enjoying his ride! I gotta say, for such a small scale truck, this looked to float along over the terrain more like a 1/10 scale! Very impressive and lots of lovely details. Great video mate. I hope you are doing well, all the best. 😎😎👍👍

Hi. Thank you for watching my video. The axles came with a little grease but I did put a bit more on the diff gears before I installed them on the MN82. This is a link to my video which shows this kzfaq.info/get/bejne/d9pjq9ByyNXXf2Q.html I've been using a long life salt and fresh water resistant marine grease which I bought from a boat chandlery years ago, but most brands of marine grease online are the same. It's thicker than the usual "RC grease" but it works well and I've had no problems with mine all the years I've been using it.

Thanks Mal. I took the Bronco out to the woods with the MN82 last week. It was very hot so I filmed the MN82 going up the trail and then filmed the Bronco coming back down the trail. I wear long trousers and long sleeve tops in the woods because the Mosquitoes love to munch on me so I was sweltering when I got back to the car. This is interesting. I want a 1:12 chassis on which to build a project, and fsncied this one for the leaf springs. Now I realise that I'd immediately have to upgrade them, I'm wondering whether to get an MN45 instead,, coz that would come with a body I like more. Hmm...
@hollyhillrc
@hollyhillrc Ай бұрын
Hi Del. The set of metal leaf springs only cost £3 so not an expensive upgrade. But upgrading this with all the metal parts was a personal choice and not a necessity. Many people run these stock and are really happy with them and the proportional electronics in this are a lot better than the MN45. I don't know the dimensions of the MN45 but I wonder if the body would fit on this chassis? Thank you for watching and I hope you are enjoying the summer my friend 🙂👍🏼

@@hollyhillrc If you do be aware that for some reason they're being both pictured and sold backwards - the front is the back and the back is the front . Not a problem if bought as a pair as you just swap them - they come completely disassembled so you just install the bumper with the hole for the trailer hitch on the back of the MN82 and install the bumper (without the hole) plus the cow catcher on the front . But if you're not going to install the trailer hitch I guess it doesn't really matter .

Hi. To be honest I didn't run it before I upgraded it. I got nearly all the upgrades and the MN82 in a spring sale from Ali Ex' earlier this year and the total I've spent so far for it all, including shipping and tax, is just over £54. So from that point of view I'm very happy with it.

@hollyhillrc

Hi. Thank you very much for watching my video. You would need a set of 5mm to 7mm hex wheel hub adapters to use metal bead lock wheels (Injora's for example). Take off the MN wheels and slide the hex adaptors onto the axle where the MN wheels were. Then you can fit the metal bead lock wheels over them and screw them on. I hope this helps 🙂👍🏼👍🏼

Noice! I like the way it rides, the all metal chassis and the weight of the body obviously helps quite a lot with the realism, and of course, traction! I hope you enjoy this so cool truck! I just accidentally 🤔 acquired one from a UK model shop that I just visited, for £325 pre-built, including the small RC4WD trailer and a radio set. And it's so clean I'm guessing it's never been run outdoors! Maybe a shelf queen? The only thing wrong I can see so far is rattly suspension , and under scale figures inside. I've ordered a couple of Tamiya ones and an RC4WD one as well. Oh and there's a DIY wall hook in the back bumper for the trailer. 🤦‍♂ Haven't driven it yet, as I'll have to wait till I get home, wasn't planning any RC this weekend, so no batteries or charger.

@hollyhillrc

Hi Del. Thank you very much. It's a new re edit of some footage I took in 2017. I can't answer your question exactly because it's been a long time since I've driven either of them, and I won't be able to compare them now because I sold the Carisma last week. But from memory the Carisma is more capable, mainly because it has better ground clearance. But as far as scale looks are concerned it's the Hpi for me every time 🙂👍🏼👍🏼

Hi Lou. Thank you very much. I bought this in 2017, but I think it was first released in 2012. So I guess it could be classed as vintage because of the release date. I was lucky to find this at the time as it was discontinued just after I bought it because 2017 was also the beginning of Carisma's new project the "Carisma Scale Adventure" series, and their first release was the very popular RTR "Coyote". I sold this M40DT last week and re edited some old footage as a tribute video.

Be very careful with blue thread locker near plastic parts, I had destroyed 2 servos shell that way, it cracks the plastic, I reshelled my Surpass with the stock servo shells and that also cracked, better use a plastic safe CA based thread locker

I don't put blue threadlock on the bolt if it has to pass through plastic. I put a very tiny drop on a sewing needle and smear it inside the threaded hole of the metal part the bolt screws into. I make sure there's enough threadlock to cover the bolt threads when that's screwed in, but not too much so it squeezes back out and comes in contact with any plastic parts. So far this has worked for me 👍🏼

There's more "meat" to the body, I wonder if they are made by different manufacturers...
