Don't wanna be rude but what's the point of wearing gloves if you go in the cab and start touching things with them on? Also, the pin for the under run bar is not secure, the chain is not hold by anything, those pins have the tendency to fly at some point, reason why they have a chain on them.

Hey there Sir, thanks for your service! Without you guys we would be long dead! How hard is the trucking life? You think someone can get into trucking nowadays? Is there a special industry you would recommend as a trucker? Container shipping? Box trailers? Best wishes from Germany👍🏼

I enjoy container shipping as you go all different places. If you work for Aldi or Lidl or other supermarket suppliers you don’t really get to see much. Curtain side work you get lots of different loads also. But I was in a bad motorcycle accident 12 months ago. so my left arm hurts some times doing curtain side work especially on windy days. so I like container work I also just enjoy driving trucks Thanks 🤝

It’s a rough ride bro. It’s probably one of the hardest jobs to start on class 1. It’s flat out. But take your time don’t panic and get your self in a pickle. If you’re not sure get out and look and go in and ask people if it’s the right place before you go into tight places. It’s a lot harder to get out if you have a full load on a trailer the weight really makes a big difference to reverse. All the best keep me posted how you get on

I did multidrop for over a year with SW out of leeds with an artic, on a quiet day it would be 9 or 10 drops round Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire the north east was usually 12 to 16 drops including regular hospital deliveries which were a pain and one off jobs tail lifting stuff off at residential addresses. We had to get back for the night driver to take over too and although there were some calm days it was mostly flat out and hope for the best. I saw several new starters come and go in less than a week a year was long enough for me😅
@titaniumtrucker
@titaniumtrucker Ай бұрын
Yeah mate far too much hassle. flat out all day is the reason I got away from class 2 work. You’re getting some drops bad enough trying to get a space plus give room for the tail lift to get pallets off 🙃 I had 2 ton of oversize rubber floor matts for a gym. Could get out the back doors. Guy said just hand ball them off 😂 yeah I think not pal see you later 👋🏼 Yeah well this wm armstrongs are all agency drivers for the pallet work don’t think anyone sticks it
@Trav-the-trucker
@Trav-the-trucker Ай бұрын
@@titaniumtrucker pallet network stuff is a odd one yea because the pallet network say kerbside delivery only but the place the customer ordered the goods from promise the customer that the driver will offload it wherever they want it. When I was on 18t work a customer would order 2 pallets of turf or stone at a tonne each from somewhere online and get promised a hiab or 2 man team to deliver it i would arrive on my own with a pallet truck and tail lift and they would say I want it down the side of my house or all handball off and stacked neatly at the bottom of the garden. Haha yea mate dream on you will be lucky if can manage to even get it off the tail lift and over the lip of the kerb.
@titaniumtrucker
@titaniumtrucker Ай бұрын
@@Trav-the-trucker this is exactly it. Up Lorna down paths. I said to one guy ordered ton bag of sand. Why would you not just order it from builders merchants they come with hiab. He said delivery was to expensive because he never bought enough bulk. I said so you think you are saving money and I’m going to drag this you have lost your mind pal
@Trav-the-trucker
@Trav-the-trucker Ай бұрын
@@titaniumtrucker it is a thankless task pal I did it for 7 years class 2 and ended up in hospital twice with strangulated hernia trying to drag turf, tiles, bricks or any other dead weight up drop kerbs or uneven surfaces then in 2013 I lost all sensation in my right arm and excruciating pain in my neck, I went to hospital to be told after a MRI scan I had stretched the vertebrae in my neck so much a disc had slipped out putting pressure on my spinal cord and I needed emergency surgery on my neck. That was the last time I ever got involved in ridiculous pallet network drops. Like you say a lot of it is oversized pallets that get side loaded then they are facing the wrong way for you to tail lift off so you end up undoing all the curtain clips and ratchets to slacken the curtains to give you a bit of room to spin it and then if you do get it on tail lift the pallet truck wheels end up preventing it going down and you have to sit pallet truck on top of the goods all whist the customer stands there watching you struggling. SW wasn't pallet network but still multidrop a lot of pressure because of the volume of drops but at least working there they told the customer it gets fork lifted off or we ain't delivering your stuff and if it was a home delivery the customer was told in advance the driver will strip the pallet but you have to handball it yourself the driver will only pass the boxes down to you.
