Honestly, this was extremely underscored. A very nice hecht 1/2. Good handstands, only issue was the dismount. Should have scored 9.85-9.90

It’s insane that this routine performed in 1989 would’ve been competitively viable in terms of difficultly up until the early to mid 2000s. She’s so underrated.

Excellent routine. And quite underscored compared to the Russians and Romanians - this scored lower than all 4 counting scores from Romania. Like, really?

She scored a zero. She also scored a zero at 1991 worlds bc she never piked the vault, so it was a problem skill for her.

That was the last international meet Kerri attended with her coach Jim Gault, after that she went to few invitational with Jim, in 1991 she went to Bela Karolyi. She had dreams of becoming and Olympic gymnast and Jim was to busy teaching the college gymnasts at the University of Arizona

HONEY you are looking at 2000 Olympics All Around Bronze medalist - first time China placed in the AA above the worlds/olympics level. She also was the FIRST one to win GOLD in the BB in the Olympics from China (hard to believe since China has so many amazing BB workers, but also head cases...). What a trailblazer.

I wish there was more and better footage from ‘97 worlds. Not sure how much the us team was covered though they were quite a bit lower in ranking.

She messed up the Arabian one & 3 quarters in warm-up, so dumped it out of this routine. Then had a shocking beam

Julianne and Nastia continue to be my two favorite American gymnasts ever. The exquisite blend of difficulty, power, fluid grace, and incredible body lines. I wish Julianne had a better Olympics result in the AA, but she did win a gold and a silver in bars and floor.

That small step on dismount was enough to lose the AA silver to Mostepanova. The same mistake in the 1984 Olympics AA.

Dobre was a great gymnast, but ROM should have taken Szabo to Seoul in her place. Szabo was a great compulsory gymnast and still had great optionals at 1987 Worlds. Barring injury or significant burnout, she should have been taken instead.

What a joke. This routine is crap. Khorkina, Jie, and even Karpenko had much better routines. She didn't even deserve a medal, and won silver, and nearly gold.
