Thanks for bringing this up. Got used to the Fenix parking brake and now I know it’s different from the 777. To engage parking brake, press and hold the key bind of your brake and while holding press the parking brake button. To release parking brake simply press and hold the brake button 👍

Hi Captain just a question is it ok to set IAS to 240 or 250 knots in the FMC from TOD all the way down for a slow mellow descent?

No, to release the parking brake just push your regular brakes all the way down and hold them. Then it’ll release on its own. You only need to SET the parking brake, turning them off only requires the normal brakes.

i’m loving the 777 but i’m really struggling to hand fly a stable approach. if i want to descend at 700fpm, even small inputs seems to make it swing between -1400 and +300. i think it’s something to do with trimming the aircraft. do you have any tips?

So I'm quite curious. Why aren't you flying on the 777 if you have the typerating. Don't they cost loads of money and is it in that case not a waste. Or is there a different reason?
@anthonygreene9665
@anthonygreene9665 22 сағат бұрын
Must be a requirement for his company. It’s really not that expensive if you compare how much it costs the airline to operate a delayed flight. Off schedule ATC fees, gate fees for the aircraft to be parked longer than scheduled, etc. are not cheap. In this case if he’s rated on a plane he doesn’t fly, in the event they need a 77 pilot, they can use him or anyone else rated on it. They wouldn’t need to call someone off reserve which can take hours, or worse case scenario, deadhead another 77 pilot from another airport, which would take the entire day more or less.
@anthonygreene9665
@anthonygreene9665 22 сағат бұрын
I will add however in the U.S. being type rated on both is not normal, the FAA has different requirements regarding that. But because of that I’ve seen several flights get delayed 5-10+ hours cause they can’t find a 77 pilot, then crew scheduling tries calling a 78 pilot as a Hail Mary lol

Hi 320SimPilot. Thank you for this video. Im slowly working my way through it, understanding the 777 systems and using it as a reference for my attempts to fly the 777. (Descent seems very different from the 737 or A320. I ended up in "lawn dart" mode trying to descend in time and keep the speed under control!). One thing I would mention. In the videos, your mouse cursor does not match up with the controls and buttons you are pressing. Very noticeable when you were using the LSKs on the FMS. Your mouse cursor is always 1 button lower than the one you press. Gets a bit confusing. Dont know whats causing it. Are you using an XBOX controller by any chance? They seem to cause a strange click spot desync. Regardless, thanks again for the superb video.

I somehow figured that out without trying too much, but one thing I struggled with playing with my controller was hitting TOGA mode, I actually pressed that screw multiple times and it just wouldn't engage so I ran off the runway. It would be nice if PMDG just implemented it similar to the Airbus, at least for controllers, after going full throttle levers, release and press again to go into TOGA.

Very good video! Questions - 1.) What is the first position UP on the fuel levers when starting? You push through this - what is it used for? And 2.) I thought TA/RA only went on once on the runway, not taxiing...?
@320SimPilot
@320SimPilot Күн бұрын
Thank you for watching! The fuel control switches have two positions, Run and Cutoff. So they are in cutoff until we start the engine. I think that is what you are referring to? For TA/RA you can do this whilst taxiing, it is inhibited on the ground so will not generate issues. I hope this helps!
