the biggest issues for me are task avoidance by eloping, name calling among peers that often leads to verbal altercations.

One thing that has always worked for me is starting the conversation (after listening to them) with this phrase “thank you for reaching out, this is a valid concern and while I try my best I don’t always see everything the second it happens a so your feedback on what you’re hearing helps” thisbinnesiatelybdiffises then and makes them feel heard and validated ..even if you know their child started it.

Another Bug: if the student has a personal pencil sharpener with a receptacle attached (like the ones at Target or Staples that only cost 68¢).

How do you de-escalate a defiant pre-k child who's on the autism spectrum that won't listen to any of the staff & wants things his own way. If anything is different than his routine expectations he starts being defiant...this includes during his lunch. Refuses to eat..daily occurrence lately...& it builds from there.

I live in a condo with thin walls and thin ceilings. There is a boy upstairs who clearly suffers from hyperactivity. From 4 pm to 10 pm every evening we hear him loudly stomping and running back and forth as of he has no self control. It's hard to live under. His parents ignore him completely. I wish someone would help him.

For now I have a students who always dis respect teacher's. He will shout, get easily angry and when I talk to him he always shout at me. And he got irritated when someone not give him the toys that he wanted. Please help me how to handle this student I Wanted to help him.

Wish classrooms had cameras so they could see their angel... those angels grow up to be thr devils we have as karens or adults now... something needs to change in every home... not many parents know they are raising adults the affirmations is we are raising children which Subconsciously means adults who act like children... that is probably a place to start... children are adults in training calling a child a princess then showing them movies where a princess gets what she wants has so many wrong programming messages also giving them dolls... creates a wanting that boys don't have which is why the males today are called boys or not real men... they are given cars and games so most parents say a doll will make a boy gay but women say the man is a boy because he wont take care of the child... there is so much healing that its tough to help when most will fight to defend their limiting beliefs... as an alien named for the son of jesus Daniel... my father is not goong whole on helping those who wont admit 😒 they need to let go of beliefs that no longer serve... i probably lost alot of people with multiple parts of this message... hone in on whatever part of it that releases you from the healing you need to do. Please find the excuse. So you can stay where you are... or find a way to heal.

Never take recess from a child . As a teacher , there are other way to utilize yellow and red. No recess is holding in energy which can make behaviors worse . If you let them run free at recess there is a chance for those children to move back up. Never take recess here where I live it’s against the law to take a child’s play or recess away

It could be that the teacher's class topic being studied is boring. Or if you keep ordering students around and telling them what to do instead of asking them politely they are virtually bound to rebel. Image your school director being bossy and treating you like crap, you wouldn't put up with it, would you?

Half way through this video I realized how ridiculous it is that we even have to make a video like this. Really, when it comes down to it, these behaviors are just so prevalent that admin has adopted an attitude that basically says you are either a teacher who can entertain the students or not. However, they use the word "engage." They also will take the side of the students and parents in a heartbeat when a teacher is not "engaging" enough. In reality though, who can blame admin when there is not enough of them to truly devote the time it would take to deal with every student that needs an unreasonable amount of attention properly.

I’m planning on trying this with my class this year. I teach kindergarten and every year I have issues with classroom control. I’ve tried star charts for individual behavior, the bean jar for class behavior but by the end of the year I’m worn out because it loses its effectiveness. Any tips on how I can better manage my class?

Did you try moonpreneurs - great for 7 to 15 year olds. For third graders it could be a perfect start. They offer free trial program for their trial class.

My response is, well I have to chase them sometimes, although, I have more recently stopped, esply. When they are alone, but I have to when they leave together and won't return because they play together out there thus avoiding Circle Time. They laugh at us because they are causing a ruckus. I secretly giggle about it but not so they see it, but we get so tired, physically since this makes for a long day. We have tried several strategies, and had to report to literally posting an adult Voulnteer to guard the door because more recently they have been running towards the street and Parking Lot.

I teach preschool, so it's not one disruptive student. It's several ring leaders. The most obstinate gets attention from the other children who fall into her spell. She especially so when it is Circle Time and gets others to run around the room like manics. If we try to help them, they run out the door!
