GREAT INTERVIEW. BAM is arguably one of the greatest writers/producers, right up there with Babyface, Jimmy and Terry. And WEAK is arguably one of the greatest songs ever written. It’s my personal favorite right behind Prince’s Adore. 🙌🏽🔥✊🏽

tier #1 jodeci, boys 2 men, new edition tier #2A jagged edge, 112, dru hill tier #2B h-town, silk, next and i did that on purpose, cuz silk catalog can compete with 112, jagged edge, "rated next" can compete with top R&B albums, plus wifey can compete with 112 hits,, and beggin after dark, ladies edition can compete with 112, jagged edge, and RL was the man before sisqo but no one's fucking with them casey boyz or dino conner in tier #2 so its jodeci, jagged edge, h-town, silk's producer/songwriter link "sex down" for me, also peep the other silk producer "delite" allamby, yall sleepin on them

2000s up to 2010 was the last time r&b was good as a whole mainstream. Anything after that was bits and pieces of good r&b music.

Lately I've been binging on Tiara's music and acoustic performances and I find her absolutely amazing! I am so memorized by her talent and her songs. She is such an inspiration to me! Since listening to her and watching her interviews, I feel so inspired to get into music myself. I always had it inside me but I never tried hard enough to get better at the piano. Now I'm considering getting back to playing the piano again and maybe even getting a guitar and take some guitar lessons and create my own music.

Love these takes! you know what R&B had at that time too not only the hip-hop collaborations, but the sound was so unique! There was like a Spanish/acoustic guitar in the back of so many early 2000 hits… That was definitely flavoring that we need that

Bruh !! Dude said Next is better then 112 ?? GTFO. I hate when people say Mya can't sit with the others, yes she can. She most definitely can. She had a slew of major hits in the late 90's from It's All About Me to Ghetto Supastar to Take Me There, to Movin On to Somebody Like Me to My First Night With You, etc. She really came into her own in the early 00's and achieved even greater success during that time span. People also have to realize Mya was on a label that didn't specalize in R&B and she was on a Rap and Rock label and still manage to be successful. She made a path for herself and carved out her own lane.

I like Mya, she’s a sweet woman and has contributed a hit song or two and maybe three…but she’s no Brandy, Monica and DEFINITELY no Aaliyah…she was the Jessica Simpson to Britney & Christina back in the day. Still carved out her own little lane, but she wasn’t a major player. Good artist, nonetheless.

I love all 4 of them. Mya came out much later in the 90s, but I still include her because they were all around the same age. Mya is so underrated and talented. Her career should have skyrocketed. Once Beyonce came out with her solo album that was it. But Brandy ruled the 90s and Aaliyah I really truly believe would have ruled the 2000s had she not passed. (I.E MOVIES :Sparkle, Matrix and a clothing line with Kidada jones) Monica did her thing as well. These ladies are RNB GEMS 💎 from the 90’s

With all due respect my brother, your feeling take is wack and so is this generation of male R&B singers. Point blank, none of these cats could have competed in the 90's catalog wise. And lets cut the crap, CATALOG IS KING, it's your legacy!! If we keeping it a buck, everyone of these dudes have been trying to recreate the Late Nights with Jeremih mixtape DJ Drama and DJ Phaarris made. And since I mentioned the 90's, Lucky Days not even better than Jaheim.....and that's a FACT!!!!
