Michael Riedel and his nasty, disparaging questions. "Did your father help you write the music?" "Was you father bitter about being seen as antiquated?"

I love *Big* and *Nick & Nora,* but only because I encountered their respective cast albums, long after the shows had closed.

Theatre Talk is one of the most undervalued show in Broadway history. Love it. I love Murray Hill.

What I would like to see is a stage version of Topsy-Turvy based on this film, presented as a jukebox musical, with most of its music adapted from Sullivan's score.

Why was ‘You’ve got to be taught left out of the book? Reading Lyrics.

Wonderful interview! Thanks for uploading! Lots of talent here! John Lahr (a very successful author, biographer & critic) certainly looks a lot like his late dad, iconic comedic actor Bert Lahr. And Ms. Ashley is a truly powerful actress.

I'd have liked to have heard more about Mary Rodgers' career and fewer well-known anecdotes about her father (of whom I am a huge fan, however). I thought it was remarkable that when asked about her father's songwriting process, she recited almost word for word what he used to say himself.

Eight shows a week sounds insanely unfair to performers. It just sounds - mean. Why should such talented humans be burdened with such a horrific work load? Shouldn’t the most gifted of us work less? Why’s it the opposite for Broadway performers? I mean I know why: greedy landlords who knocked down all but a handful of theaters. But I think, as an audience member, it needs to stop.

Ew michael ... i love this show but wow he ca n be a little rude at times.
@theatertalk22 күн бұрын
a LITTLE rude! That’s a good way of putting it. Anyway, Riedel has moved on to being a right-wing radio pundit. As for Theater Talk, it lives on in our archive, and thank you for watching. Best, SueH-D

Oh Sue! This isn’t surprising really. Still, how disappointing. You were always the heart of this show anyway.

I would love if you could post/repost the episode with Denis O'Hare and Becky Ann Baker for Assassins !

I will look for it. We don’t have an Internet person right now to keep on updating the archive, but I think I can do that one before too long. - SH-D.

I really enjoyed Charles Nelson Reilly, he really was my favorite panelist on Match Game! As a matter of fact, the week that Charles Nelson Reilly died, the Game Show Network dedicated its programming to Reilly, airing some of his funniest episodes of Match Game.

What an amazing imagination Shapiro has. He says all the stuff he makes up with great confidence. 21:10 'Kempe sold his share in 1599' - source? 'Shake wrote at night. Went to book stores.' - source?

This is a masterful example of revisionist history. Kazan had no ethos. He only cared for his lifestyle. Traded in his friends and colleagues to keep his swimming pool.

Fabulous. Billy Crud is in London. All tickets SOLD OUT apart from a couple at £195 each. Far too expensive for me sadly. I would love to see it. I have ordered the play and will listen to the Audible recording.

Mr. Cullum is a very gifted actor/singer. He maintains his composure and Always plays his parts to perfection. Enormous range, he can play everything from Shakespeare to a convenience store manager to a rough and tumble, but mellowed, mountain man.
