One of my favorite all time games, still play it to this day! The combat really benefits from using pause in combat to overcome the Jank, but yea its pretty jank and you sort of need to understand some unintuitive rules and ui.. Auto-calc gets less op at higher levels. Its really fun, even now, it has a lot of mechanical depth and an awesome vibe. If you take the time to get it figured out its really worth it, at least it was for me. thanks for playing!

I really love how Grubby is just having fun exploring the world, trying things and isn't letting any silly notions in chat hurry him or tell him how to have fun. In overland it's pretty important in this game to scout around with a weak but fast unit separately from your main force. For Air that unit is the eagles. In combat it's important to select a high stat unit, click defend and then target itself in order to make it parry attacks with its weapon. Air has additional complexity as it has flying units to fly over terrain. A bit more depth around the high defense meta: The Berserk command is useful for breaking through high defense while sacrificing your own if your unit is not being targeted anyway. The aimed shot command is useful for piercing through high defense while sacrificing attack speed.

@grubby dude i see how you fumble controlls on keyboard and how long it takes you to press the right key, because of those damn modifier keys. it is time well spent to learn controller . . . i did the exact same thing with dark souls 3 and i had literally ZERO time on controller . . . it is objectively better after you invest time in learning to use it.
