Wynton is a wee baby here playing with a band of established legends. And as I look at the close-ups, I realize how much his chops look like clark Terry’s. And if anyone ever had a perfect set up, it was Clark Terry. And Wynton is so mature beyond his years here musically. People argue about some of the choices he’s made along the way, but he’s done what he wanted to do. Don’t we all wish we could do even that.

It's sad that alot of people especially Blacks never got the point or listening to their lyrics. They just got high off their music.

These guys were absolutely phenomenal, and very underrated. However, when it comes to lead singers, and especially vocal range, not to mention showmanship, David Ruffin, in my opinion, is incomparable.

Really amazing the Q&A part of translating his mind to the instrument and making SURE he was heard by perfecting technique and CONTROL and not because he could not help himself. You can apply that to anything you do in life, in your job, in your craftmanship, whatever you do. I've always thought that drums are the easiest instrument to impress people with whatever you do, and here you can see his eagerness to get overcome this idea and play transparently. Incredible human being.

Tony interrupted my drum lesson at Berklee in 1992. I was in the middle of my lesson with Rick Constantine and there was a knock at the door. It was the dean of students and Tony. Rick and I were both in shock. I just nodded and stared at him when Dean Anderson introduced me to him. I was like "yeah, i know who he is"...Now i wish I would of said something.

So awesome. That dude in the front row that Rose was trying to dance with. I'm jealous. 💯 Rose is older than my mom and I want to dance with her in 2024. 6 years older than my mom? Anyway, Rose was a babe then. I understand, if a rock star girl would try to grab my hand, on TV, I would be shy. But dude!!! Fuck it!! It's Rose 🌹 😍.

I think that's because making lists of "who's the best" at this or that, who's "number 1, number 2, number 3" etc is usually a thing made by white people about white people 🤷🏻‍♂️ So you always read the names of Gadd, Weckl, Colaiuta, obviously Rich, then also Palmer, Peart, Portnoy, obviously Porcaro, sometimes Bozzio, Phillips, and nowadays Harrison etc etc. You don't read the same "ranking" bullsh*t - fortunately - about who's "the best" regarding drummers such as Baby Dodds, Papa Jo, Roach, Blakey, Philly Joe, Elvin, Tony etc. They're all great and they're all different, no point in "measuring" who's the single "greatest". That said, I LOVE Tony 😂😂😂
