Ahhh, Eric's beautiful voice. So much emotion. He wrote such amazing music. All he ever needed was a piano, and that voice. Miss you handsome.

it's not a Maori chant. a bunch of us in The Millennium were sitting around listening to "It's You", a song from our 'Begin' album in 1968, played backwards on a reel-to-reel tape machine. that song played in reverse inspired us to write Just About the Same, right there on the spot. we recorded Just About the Same as a single that followed up our Begin album, but Columbia did not release it. Some time later The Association used our basic track and recorded their vocals over it. maybe you got the Maori idea from this video I created... kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rJyAZ5Ve0LiYXaM.htmlsi=3ygRa_BaKzNX3cPh

The late Larry Wolff on Flute, the late Bob Chadwick on piano and he is the composer, Marty Tryon on bass, the late Art Rodriguez on drums, Steve Leshner on percussion/congas and me, Larry Brown on guitar. We called it the Monday Night Be Bop Band because we would play these tunes down on Monday night when all the clubs were dark and nobody was likely to be working in town. It was a fun band and a fun time. We did the Troubadour and some other local venues.
