Yo could you make a video about winning science fairs or publishing papers? I think me and a lot of other people would love to see something like that.

In 7th grade, I tested out of geometry. In the first semester exam i got 95 but in the second semester one I got 82. Since then I have maintained a consistently good gpa. Is this going to be a blemish on my application, and risk my chances of getting into top schools? (The counselors at my school mentioned that the grades of that exam would go on my transcript, but it would be noted that I tested out of that course in 7th grade). Everyone tells me that this stuff doesn't matter, but coming upon college applications next year, I am very worried about this. Any advice?

I don’t think it should especially since you took geometry at such an early grade. Most people take geometry in 10th. But also pay close attention to your extracurriculars. Maybe you could write a comment/note about why you got a 82.

@@vishu1334 Thanks for the reply. That clarifies a lot. I think because it is going to be written on my transcript as a 7th grade course, and in the end its going to be an a-, I think I should be find as well.

Stupid question, but is it possible to go to an Ivy League with less than a 4.0 weighted GPA?
@user-uj8pr7ny5r3 күн бұрын
Now I'm a rising Junior, wondering how I would get involved in clubs. Because we recently moved, the foundation I built is completely gone. Should I, in my new school, start a new club, or should I join some existing clubs and rebuild the foundation?
Do middle school grades actually matter? I took a summer exam in middle school to skip geometry and I passed but with 95 on first semester and 83 on second semester. Is this going to come back to hurt me when applying?

Just letting you know. The second to last one goes to Roxbury Latin. It is a major ivy feeder. So even if he doesn't get into MIT he will prob get into an IVY. It is kind of annoying because when you look at students' resumes from Roxbury Latin and other Ivy Feeder Schools, their applications are not even that good but they still get in. I go to a private school in Massachusetts also, it is great in academics but really small and lots of ppl leave the school. Pls help Pratik or anybody else.

for anyone who reads, I need some help!! So when I was a freshman and sophomore I wasn't told that I had to do anything and didn't know what to do, I just passed the classes and minding my buisness bc I went to a magnet school (a science magnet) and because of this I didn't do anything in the summer bc I didn't know we had to. I tried doing community service, but for transportation and money problems I couldn't do it or anything at all. Now that I moved to a different state I lost a lot of credits but I have learned a little and what I have to do. Im nervous because I don't know what to do or how to get back on track, and I would like someone to help me or if this has happened not anyone else and can give advice, that would be great. Thank you

I cannot believe this video only has 8K views and 543 likes, it should have way more. Anyway, just want to thank you Pratik, you've kind of been one of my mentors throughout this whole journey, and Ive been watching your videos for over a year now. I can definitely relate to what you were saying at the beginning of the video. I got rejected from a ton of my schools and it just feels like all the work I put into my applications and all the late nights grinding and stressing out were for nothing. I feel like I just wasted all my time. It really, really hurts. I applied to 15 schools, was accepted to my last choice (Fordham), got rejected from 9, and was waitlisted at 5 (Vanderbilt, Columbia, Georgia Tech, NYU, and Wesleyan). As of right now, I've already written all of them a fantastic LOCI and have done everything possible to boost my chances. But at the end of the day, it's all a game; sometimes I have no idea what the college is really looking for. Anyway, just wanted to thank you again. Watching your videos has given me some really good advice, and I'm thankful for that. Also I apologize for the super gay and zesty comments I left on some of your old videos.

For the crux I’m think of putting shadowing with 20-30 hours shadowing the top 3 orthopedic surgeons in my state. 25-30 hours shadowing an athletic trainer. And over a 1,000 hours shadowing a PT( I will be working directly under them in a part time job) Could I use this as a crux bc I went really in depth?

Rather than creating any type of organization, me and my friend are just thinking of creating an initiative where we work together to fundraise about 20 k dollars and then use that to help another non profit (I’m going to go into specifics) but would that be good to do and add on my college app?

Also, remember that whenever you start is good. Obviously start as soon as you possibly can, but if you can’t start earlier for whatever reason start. Now. I’m 18 and was diagnosed with autism last year so situations like that make stuff like this a bit harder and that’s OK. We’ve got this.

This is genuinely the greatest study video I've ever watched on KZfaq. I am gonna have to have to re-watch it. I can relate to most things mentioned and I already knew some of the strategies, but that only makes it clearer that this video isn't made upon some randomly AI generated script but an actual piece of work made by someone who deeply understands what they are saying.
