Beautiful set! I was wondering how you can minimize raised faces on the one face? No matter how much pressure I put on the cap when closing the mold, I continue to get raised faces on a few dice. I've been trying to fix when polishing, but I've over-polished the adjacent faces, creating a little lip. Thank you!

A base, a solvent and a pigment. Those 3 things are needed to get ink or paint. By definition acrual solid pigments are just oxidation on minerals (rocks near water) we scrape off them. So you're not making an ink because per example gauche paint? Waterborne and based. Acrylics are usually waterbased but never born. Meaning besides the fact your playing with youre hands in metal flakes of mica 👍 very smart. Youre still letting it bond initially on water. Now its waterborne. Meaning my meanwhile just waterbased paint? The water evaporates, acrylates bond and you can throw whole buckets at it. Its solid. Yours also sure os sped up drying because of the solvent i use that trick too. But only when thenwater is gone its truly gonna set yet what your cobbling together if if sees water it will start dripping again and people keep copying this just how you did off of someone else and none of you have an idea what you're doing or the basics of the minimal chemistry behind it.

I bought a pressure pot for making my dices so i have a question for which one i cant really find an answer. How long do u keep ur molds in pressure pod? I have resin thats needs 24h to get ready.
@DruidDice26 күн бұрын
You want to keep it in there for the full demold time. Typically resin is good to de-mold in 24 hours like you said and they need another day or two to fully harden

How fragile are these? Would the material handle being made into a chip or token/counter for MTG or coin tosses/D2's?

Why didn’t you mix it in a drip bottle

I am very new to dice making and I cant afford a pressure pot yet, so I wanted to ask if it is possible to make dice with UV-Resin instead of Epoxy-Resin. Your tips are very helpful thank you very much for making this video.

Are there any other brand of pressure pots that you recommend and are safe? The California one is out of stock.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to warm up the molds as well? Maybe keep them on a warm slab of stone.... kind of like a pizza stone or something. Did you try this and did it make a difference?
@DruidDice3 ай бұрын
I'm not tried that but that's an interesting idea to help keep the resin thing in debubble while in mold.

@DruidDiceАй бұрын
Just the top face and the adjacent faces to the one face where the flashing is. A good casting should have little to no flashing, so it should take no work at all but sometimes you get thick flashing if you have some chunkies that make its way between the cap and the mold.

If we're going to start out without the pressure pot. Would we be able to secure it with clamps in addition to the heavy weight object?
@DruidDice3 ай бұрын
You want to avoid clamps for any excessively heavy object because it can deform the silicone and cause your dice to become misshapen. You could also cause unnecessary squeeze out of the resin leaving with voids.
@jamesbrady57514 ай бұрын
Just don't do resin dice without a pressure pot. It's a lot cheaper to do like coasters cutting boards and other stuff not to mention it's a LOT cheaper to start this that way. And then decide whether u want to spend over 2000 dollars on this project 😂
