Just found this and I love the idea. How wide of a strip do you use or does it work with any width? Thanks!

about how much material did you use?

Ive never measured! I re-purpose used clothing, so i just cut them as i get them. Your question deserves a proper answer. I will do another video on how much fabric is needed !

Can I ask you about how long it took you to make these ones, as well as approximately how many bags itt took? I’m excited to try making a few of my own, just not looking forward to collecting all the bags, I am only interested in used plastic bags. Other than the few I get here and there living alone I really don’t need to shop as much as I did before my babies have grown up and moved out. Guess I’ll have to post on all my social media sites for family and friends to save their bags for me, I’m wondering if it would be possible to make them thicker as in adding layers to make I guess something similar to mattresses for the homeless. I guess I could always make 3-5 of the same size and weave em together on top of eachother. I know not the most comfortable in hot weather but air mattresses that are used daily quickly begin leaking within ask or 2. I think this would be a little time consuming but well worth it in the end, it’ll be a win, win recycling the plastic and helping provide a little comfort for the homeless living in tents.

I saw someone use the pile discard to stuff a pillow 😮😮😮
@sheilaarispe7358Ай бұрын
Sounds like a great idea for patio furniture, using the discarded plastic to either make your own patio furniture padding or to add extra fluff/firmness to the stuff you already have out there.

I have done repairs to several braided rugs that my grandmother had made 50 or more years ago. Hers are made of wool or something similar and her method was to fold the fabric strips (three strips) during the braiding, and “sew” the braids together with twine. I now have about twenty years worth of old blue jeans that I am thinking of making into a rug. Any advice on that method
@beverlymartin76883 ай бұрын
I've never used that method, sounds fun tho.

Thanks for your video! It looks like you used stretchy material. Would this technique also work with old sheets?
@beverlymartin76883 ай бұрын
It does work, just a bit harder on your fingers. I prefer an Amish knot rug style for bed sheets.

You can use non-stretchy, it's just harder on your fingers when braiding it in
