Gfriend's performance is always outstanding - much more interesting than their MV.
@peterhugo207810 күн бұрын
As you don’t like watching music videos because you find them distracting and you prefer the dancing instead, I recommend you watch just the performance video and forget about the music video. But still do a dual reaction as you should add in the dance practice video as well. The performance video has lots of cuts to visuals which are nice but hide what the other 5 members are doing. The dance practice video on the other hand is a fixed camera which shows you everything in the choreography and is so satisfying to watch because their synchronisation and formations become much easier to see.
@StephanieNDrin10 күн бұрын
Yeah I am thinking of doing that thanks

@@StephanieNDrin GFriend are famous for their knifelike choreography with perfect synchronisation so you should enjoy seeing that. They were the first ever group to do x2 speed dance when a caller into a variety show asked them to do that as an impossible challenge without any rehearsal. But they killed it and were asked to do it on every show after that with each new comeback. I think you would enjoy watching a compilation video of that too. It was really tough when they were challenged to do three different songs x2 back to back with no rest in between. They were shattered but great fun to watch them dancing on empty and still looking good.

I think that choreography videos in general don’t do justice to either the song or the dancing in many cases. I recommend certainly with GFriend that you watch their music video first followed by their dance practice video which shows the choreography really well and allows you to see the very impressive synchronisation and beautiful formations they form. They make difficult look really easy which can be deceptive. But they belong to a different era to now being at the start of 3rd gen and they were the dance pioneers back then, doing the hardest choreographies of any girl group and forcing all their rivals to step up their game. They started the journey of Kpop towards the crazy dancing we now see in Kpop in 5th gen where groups have become dancers not singers and cannot sing live without the help of auto tune to make them sound good or usually just lip syncing instead. Just look at how at how many live performances do you now see where the members sing with hand microphones rather than headsets. Not many because they are not usually singing at all or so quietly you cannot hear them over the loud backing track. I recommend watching Love Whisper next but including the dance practice video for it. It was choreographed by the person who trained BTS so it is harder than most and way harder than from their rivals at the time. Then the 1 the K video for Labyrinth which only has a performance video as it is just a B side. If you like crazy dancing from a group then check out the teasers for BadVillain, a new group yet to debut from BPM, so younger sisters to VIVIZ. It contains Emma Song of SWF fame so the dancing is scary it is so good. Also check out the 2 dance cover videos SinB did for Studio Choom namely Sweet but Psycho and Tap In. Very different in style but she kills both concepts.

"Fever" is a rare exception when Gfriend got into this kind of EDM-based House Tropical genre. I am glad to see you visit Gfriend but surprised by your selection of Fever Choreo version video since you reacted to the MV before. However, I am not complaining. Based on your comments, I am curious to see your reaction to Gfriend's performance video of "Labyrinth" when you decide to take another look of Gfriend later.

Thank you for another Lapillus reaction 😊 Maybe you can try listening to their debut "Hit Ya!" if you want the high bar energy and choreography. And with Marionette, there's actually an original choreography to it but their team changed it suddenly. The fans like the original choreo better than the latter.

Unfortunately you didn’t mention which song you watched from GFriend that wasn’t your style. My guess is that it was Rough which is the last song in their school trilogy and has a wistful, romantic, orchestral style. If you want a different style to that from GFriend then try listening to Fingertip, Fever, Apple and the 1 the K performance video of their B side Labyrinth. They are much more to your taste I think. Also I can recommend you watching the dance cover of Sweet but Psycho by SinB on Studio Choom which got more views than anything else on their channel. They were so impressed they started a new series called Artist of the Month and invited SinB to e the first ever recipient of that honour. The song she chose to cover was Tap In by Sweety and is hip hop that hits hard and choreographed by both of GFriend’s choreographers who also appear in the video alongside her which is a rare chance for them to also shine at hip hop. When SinB was young she loved hip hop and there are videos of her free styling at a hip hop dance class when about 13 years old. I think you will love those videos too.

Oh yeah I didn't say the name of the songs, I did listen to rough, glass bead and apple. I will do a reaction to the one that you suggested this time around. But I won't do the apple one since I already listened to it.
@peterhugo20782 ай бұрын
@@StephanieNDrin that makes sense. Glass Bead was their debut so 5 of them were schoolgirls at the time of their debut. Eunha was 17 and both SinB and Umji were only 16 years old, so powerful innocence was the theme chosen for their first few songs as that was age appropriate. Apple was a shock for fans as it was different from anything they had done before and was their penultimate song before their last song Mago, which became a disco classic.
@yukuolee37402 ай бұрын
Appreciate your giving Gfriend a listen and your candid response, but if you ever find yourself a reason to do so, perhaps you can listen to Gfriend's "Apple". This took place much later in their career with a much different sound. Best wishes.
