It was a great series from the beginning to the end. It was well planned and well written, and the actors were excellent. It never fell off. Not for an episode or season.

You can honestly keep cop propaganda shows like Blue Bloods and The Rookie...I'll take shows like this with incredible, edgy story telling, nuanced acting and morally grey areas.

One of the many reasons I loved the show Homicide Life on the Street is how they combined a scene with a great song but I'm not sure I ever saw a more perfect use of a song than "Overcome" by Live in the scene where they surround the container of cash. I can't stop watching it and of course knowing the mythology of the entire series just intensifies it

The real reason that Vic and guys ran out to the parking lot after Shane is they wanted to make sure they got their preferred softball jersey number before Shane took claim to it.

I love how they never put in anything that dated the show, you can watch it over and over and it's still as relevant as it was when first broadcast.

Lem dying is the best scene. It’s haunting and the acting is incredible. Walton Groggins kills it and you can feel his pain when he just keeps saying he’s sorry over and over. It’s an amazing and raw scene and it absolutely put the show on its path to its finish. Best scene of this show hands down.
