Back in the 70's you had only Cornice and Dave's run as the easiest options to get off the top. No bailouts. I remember girls crying at the lip of Cornice. Some just walked back the the gondola to get down. No back way , no easy way off the top as now. Daves was steeper but not many bumps. Cornice had the stupid chutes and the the bump field. Not much rhyme to them if I remember.

Taos is trash compared to mammoth lmao...you can legit lap steep double black chutes at mammoth without hiking. Everything at taos is mid at best if you don't want to access any of the hike terrain, not to mention taos snow quality is far worse than mammoth too

Honestly, you shouldn't be skiing this. You hacked your way through and it could of ended badly. Plus you ruin the lines for skiers that can actually hit this run safely and have the skills. These conditions are not ideal for the backside, there is a time and a place. Glad you made it through without bouncing off the rocks, but there are too many stories of when shit goes wrong on the backside. Stay safe

When Daves get s firm like that the best way to ski it is to just point em down. No turns. That way you dont get that chattering.

Nice video! when I went to chair 22 (it was in apirll) you had to take off your skis and hike down to grizzly and viva. And grizzly was very icy and there were patches of dirt. Overall I think that it is a amazing run.

Oh wow. Yeh Mammoth did struggle a bit with snow coverage this year. But I love all the chair 22 runs off the face of Lincoln
@Susybakagamer2 жыл бұрын
lower dry creek is the best ski run at mammoth. Better than most of the summit run when there are moguls cuz there are so much different entrances and sometimes there's moguls

Just got back from 3 days up there. Snow is extremely icy in the am and extremely slushy in the pm. Managed to get some fun lines down shaft and avy 1 but there’s no snow on the top of Lincoln so you have to hike from the top of 22 to the drop ins for the runs. Nice video and stay healthy.
