Couldn't be made to pass emissions test because it blows lub oil out of the tàilpipe like a two stroke. Killed off by emissions laws.

i drove a 13b series 5 na for about 12 years, coast to coast twice, and a little over 100 thousand miles, it was still running. not like it was when i got it, because i admit, on long long hoghway trips, after about 80k miles, it started losing power some, because it lost that tightness of air pressure they so need to run strong. to me thats impressive. i was gonna shell oyt a couple grand get the rebuild early, but my mom, scowls at it everytime she sees it lik, i hate that car always in my carport, why dont you crush it get sth better. my mom knows nothing about cars so i tell her so. its still sitting in her car port to this day, but as an appeasement, i took the 4 grand i was gonna use for my rx7 got a daily vw jetta, thinking it would be reliable. less than 20k miles belt slipped, brand new engine. smh guy who put the engine in, my cousin car guy about 5 ft tall, went toD votec like a TON of mechanics, no offence, bur said good car yeh rx7s suck, freak accident, youll have this 150 200 k miles now. for sure this time. yeh right. 12k miles it did it AGAIN and rather than replave another piston engine, im going back rotary.

How you check the water pump to make sure its good?

life isnt fair. death is. even though the 20b was never designed to be used in an rx7, and is essentially a luxury car engine, mazda did consider using a vetsion of it for an rx7 a couple times. for instance the gtus that was launched to commemorate their 24 hr at leman victory had originally been planned as a naturally aspirated 3 rotor, but the idea was nixed over cost. sucks that putting a 20b in an rx7 is such a hard project. a crate v8 would be gaster, but to keep a powerful wankel that doesnt live on just boost would be a thing of glory.

ok so. an rx7 is a car. its historically been a relatively inexpensive car. since the 90s that started to change. never fault anyone for being a fanboy. they are the hear soul and blood of any commercial product. leave that alone. you act like youre kurt cobain or sth lol dont do that. we all know rotary engines suck compared to corvette engines but they are more fun to drive. i had my first rx7 in 1993. probably before most these days were born. i know an old guy that bought his new in 1981. i was about 4 but he knew dick about htem compared to you. still you are a cumstain compared to his age. hey hey cant we all just get along. mine wasnt a 1993. i was broke didnt even have a license and bought it for a practice car. yes i fell in love with my first lay. it happens. i bought that fb for one grand that year. however many tears it got wrecked by a drunk relative. i worked dish in a restaurant a year later, so i paid too much for a nice fc. i still have it as a souvenir of my youth, in a barn, and will bring it back someday. if i live that long. that way i can say i had an rx7 before you and after you ha. still not impressed. no one is ever impressed. take your rx7 to LA. then you will get annoyed how many people are impressed. ive taken mine all over. whether i put a monster engine in it or leave it the same with a rebuild. who knows ill be old driving an rx7 and im sure theres nothing lamer. i dont care ill be smoking a joint listening to pink floyd. the fd was brand new the year i bought my fb. it cost as much as a dodge viper and was way out of anyones league. except that one kid whos dad owned an oil well dissed it for his lambo, his "shit car" my dream car. well screw him. that being said theres nothing wrong with using those more affordable parts if you can get ANY parts for an rx7 do it. the vast majority do not take part in events or anything or sponsor your elitism for some fictional nation with rob dahm as your monarch apparent. like you said to "elevate" our status. hellno. i wont stoop to their or your level as a human being for any car or car stereo. show some intelligence. that being said im glad you slowed down. i can hear you now and im certain those from spanish speaking will really appreciate that even more. you dont read comments! this is 7 years old. hehe then you like like an elephants butt heehee. you didnt read it. never say you dont read your own comments again. lesson learned.

Rotary community is a rip off. It’s only good if you got your own CNC machining centre’s to work on them or even machine rotor plates out of billet. Can’t believe how much they charge for rotary engines. The crappy cast iron rotories cost an arm and a leg.

I would just put a K24 in it. Much more reliable, fuel efficient, way cheaper, more aftermarket parts and with a Turbo setup ive seen them hit 600hp

A long ,long time ago a friend of mine had a rotary truck after that ride I bought a 79 rx-7 got it running a then the rotary bug hit me! Previously I was into V-8. I have had 4 rx-7, one rx-8. Time to get another one! Great video, Thanks.

I've owned a 79 and 3 81's and a 91 rx7 and drove the c4ap outta the 12a's, 3 were na and out of 17 years of driving them i only had one engine fail without warning, it was starting great hot or cold, no noises, just driving down the road and felt a bump and it dropped a apex. One 12a had a draw though rayjay turbo that the fins of the turbo was scraping the housing under load so i kept driving it and it desentagrated and blew shrapnel throughout the engine, so that was on me. I took 14hr trips in them. 3 hrs drive time a day everyday for a yr and a half. My 91 was pretty solid and i put around 15,000 miles on it and sold it. I never run premix in any of the above. Now about 3 weeks ago i got my dream car...yes a 93 fd and drove it to east TN. from Florida ...11 hrs and it done great. Im running premix in it. I hope it is as reliable as my others. 12a's are hard to beat.

What to look for when buying an FC.. If its not rotted out. Buy it. All of them will need an engine. Ill take any FC I can find if its not full of cancer.

I really thought this was fuel vs fuel and hearing him say that e85 needs big injectors like meth doesn't need huge ones and normally a few at that 😂. I will say every rotary iv rebuilt that ran water injection looked new inside. The water meth motors are the irons more but still minimal and very clean no carbon really to speak of

2:20 ye but the rx7 you talking about is the fd which cost 30k cad minimum where the rx8 even tho over priced is between 8K to most being around 10k cad

What I'm hearing is the rotary is a lot like a two stroke. Definitely has its uses but there's a reason you don't see two stroke cars on the roads anymore...

Renesis with gsl-se housings will solve the heat dissipation issue, omp with sohn adapter, fan relay kit, & running thicker oil is also going to prolong the longevity of the motor. Couple other things you can also do to better the heating issue is lower temp oil cooler thermostat & oil cooler lines.
