Update: we switched from a 3 blade to a 4 blade prop as we experienced some issues jumping up on plane and were not happy with the top speed/rpm. The new prop has been a perfect fit so far. Significantly improving the rate of getting on plane and we even maintained if not increased our top speed.

Some more great use of old footage Ram! I'd also add that I don't think you need that many chapters in that first minute or so. I thought it all flowed together well and really wouldn't think to try and skip ahead that small a distance. Just a thought, great vid!

Nice couple of fish. Tripletail off a paddleboard. Sick. Where are you? West Gulf? How far off beach…looks like 20-30 yards. We head down this week for a month. Pumped to get my sticks in the water.

We are still running our last motors 3 blade prop. We are currently in the process of switching it to a 4 blade prop as we had issues jumping on plane. Overall, happy with the motor, just looking to get the right prop on it.

I’ve been a fan of the motor so far. We kept our previous motors 3 blade on and only had a top speed of 43mp, but are switching it out for a 4 blade prop to improve the rate of jumping up on plane.

Great videos. We have a place on Sanibel and I am recently retired. Very interested in the Paddle Board fishing - just got my first inflatable board for fishing. Keep making content. Very helpful. I am new to all this - specifically fishing the mangroves. Is that Ding Darling you are fishing? Have you had any problems with gators?

Thank you! And ya a paddleboard is a great way to fish. And I have not had any problems with alligators, but they can be found once in a while, especially if you are fishing any brackish or freshwater areas. So always be mindful.

So you don’t think big triple tail exists? I have had a 30” and multiple 26-27” fish on my boat. A fellow fisherman just recently caught a 32” triple tail. I also seen one that would possibly be a record if someone caught it. Depends on where you fish some areas hold big fish and others small fish.
@RamseyFisher
@RamseyFisher 14 күн бұрын
@@larrygolden167hey Larry, I know big ones exist. We have caught two 29 inchers on our boat and plenty of other big ones as well. The fish my dad lands in this video was exceptionally big for its length and likely the heaviest tripletail I’ve personally held.

@TakeOffV05 21 күн бұрын
Yeah like the other dude said fish have a slime lair on them that handling them will almost always ruin, you can’t mouth a trout like you can a bass so what he is doing is the best for catch and release, in a lot of stock ponds or wheveer people fish alot you will often pull out fish who are on the verge of death with absolutely destroyed slime coats, I’ve done it to a couple fish and felt absolutely horrible after.
@davisthropp3384
@davisthropp3384 21 күн бұрын
@TakeOffV05 this is why you should not support stock ponds that fatten up fish just for dummies to catch. catching a trout and handling it with your hands (that are wet, this is very important) absolutely does not compromise the fish in a serious way… unless you handle them for an extended period of time and or simply using the wrong method. Trout overwhelmingly survive being caught and released with a single wet hand far far far more than they pass away. I’m just frustrated because this has nothing to do with the slime coat itself and everything to do with the angler. Handling a fish in the proper manner won’t kill it, however in the more southern states weather conditions and warmer water temps can create delicate fish. To my knowledge I only know of maybe one or two anglers who have unfortunately caused a fish to die by handling it. Both were fishing in South Carolina in a stocked stream. The fish were already under bad circumstances. I guess my point is you should not support those stock ponds by fishing there or any fisheries that similarly stock fish in that way. If you are seeing trout die due to handling please reach out to fish and game.
@RamseyFisher
@RamseyFisher 21 күн бұрын
You made a good point with the wet hands. That helps a lot and is recommended for a lot of fish species.
@RamseyFisher
@RamseyFisher 21 күн бұрын
Some fish are hardier and it’s not a problem, fresh and saltwater trout seem to be sensitive to being handled. The use of wet hands is another really good tip if you have to handle them.
@iamsammmy5299
@iamsammmy5299 22 күн бұрын
how do those work? I'm really curious
@RamseyFisher
@RamseyFisher 22 күн бұрын
Super easy, with this type there’s a curved metal on the end and when you pull the trigger or squeeze the handles the curve retracts and tightens on the fish hook, allowing you to easily grab the hook and rotate out
