I remember being in Halifac about 30 years ago and Tpmmy and I am fairly certain Liam.were a few seats away. I have loved their work and Other family works like Kilkelly ÷ goes without saring I am an Irish descendant, My grandfather's grandfather came to Prince Edward Island in about 1838. Stay well always....

I mean, this has its own charm, but the Longest Johns versions is better imo. Just higher production value, harmonies, and all that.

He turned the song into a drama. And Mr Clancy, bless his soul, turned a masterpiece.into a supernova

Great music, but a horrible recording, Mono, distortion, & restricted frequency response, It sounds like it was recorder from a TV! Sorry...😫

Amazing to think that this song was written by the same man who gave us "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face."

@@NSResponder Thank you, was in my cups when I ruminated that up, "Moving on" song is one of my great favourites beside the Shoals of Herring. "Waltzing Mathilda" was done so well by Liam Clancy and the Pogues too.

Fine actors playing up the romantic version of Paddy for the sentimental yanks..thats all..... Liam and Makem only musicians.... two lads in middle passengers.... Fair play for the accolades and renown but not a patch on The Dubliners or Planxty .... they started a gimmick and got away with it

Just fantastic . They both sang so well together. I was lucky enough to meet Tommy on a flight to Boston , he signed a tape for me . His reciting of raglan road is the best Rendition of a poem I have ever heard .and puts so much emotion into the poem . Check it out ( look up Tommy makes Gentle Annie) Liam Clancy had a beautiful style of singing . Ask Bob Dylan 👍

Serious talent. Can’t imagine anyone following in their footsteps, I’m listening to the Clancy brothers and Tommy Makem since they started out, and still think they were an amazing group of really talented people

I never saw Tom perform, sadly. Missed some opportunities. But I did get to see the combination of Paddy, Bobby and Liam with Robbie O'Connell a number of times. They were regulars at an Irish Fair in Los Angeles during much of the 90s. It was a great opportunity to not only hear them perform together but to chat with them in the casual atmosphere of the Fair. I did also see Liam with his son Donal and Robbie as well. Those are times we can never see again, but for the great recordings and such historic video such as this. The whole of the Bringing it all back Home program is magnificent.

I got to hear the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem music listening to my grandmother's radio when I was just we little boy, I always loved the Clancy Bros and Tommy music, I wish that I had got the chance to see them play live, they were brilliant, they were the greatest ambassadors of Irish folk music Scottish English European and American folk music also the very best ambassadors for the Irish people at a time it was easier to put the great Irish people down in some places.

Those boys did far more for Irish folk music and retold the history of Ireland, The Clancy Brothers & Tommy Makem were the original Fab 4 before their cousins the Beatles appeared in the seen, Yes John George, Paul and Ringo were all of good Irish stock

I have to laugh at how great they sound, dressed as they are. Consider all the groups that put out hundreds of dollars for fancy costumes and don't sound anywhere Near as good!
